Editorial Reviews
CD Description
'So This Is Great Britain' is the debut album from British indie hopefuls The Holloways. Combining punky ska numbers with Levellers-esque fiddle flourishes, the album is a thrilling snapshot of the past two decades of indie music. Includesthe singles 'Two Left Feet' and 'Generator'.
Customer Reviews
Positivity!
I can only echo the sentiments of the previous reviewers. This is a tremendous album. What sets it apart from Babyshambles et al, however (aside from the killer tunes!), is the positive sentiment running through all the songs - things will be ok, the kids are alright, you can make it, things will turn out fine - even when dealing with melancholy subjects (cf 'Nothing For The Kids'). This music wears its heart on its sleeve! Reminds me of the Clash in that regard. Good effort, boys!
Excellent debut
Bought this album solely on the strength of hearing Generator on XFM one evening. Fantastic, catchy tunes and a really promising debut. Has unfortunately been given the kiss of death as NME have raved about it but for once, believe the hype. Not a bad track on the album and deserves to be given the same airplay as the Fratellis etc.
The Holloways Rock!
This albumn is too cool for school! If you like the Libertines, Arctic Monkeys and The Kooks then this should slot straight into your CD collection.
If you've seen The Holloways live then you'll no just how good they are... Highly recommended by Zane Lowe on teh radio and rightly so.
