So Much Fun, So Little Time4
Black is good. Very good, in fact. The weapons are nothing short of exhilarating and you need not worry about using ammunition sparingly as bullets are liberally supplied at all times. This, of course, alows you to be equally liberal in your blasting of this ammunition into the enemy. That said, you will NEED to be liberal with your ammunition as it takes an extraordinary amount of bullets to kill someone. This, however, makes the weapons all the more fantastic to play with.

The graphics and sound are simply phenomenal.

BUT. And this is an almighty BUT. THIS GAME IS VERY, VERY SHORT. After having bought Black on the Sunday, and having completed it by Wednesday, I couldn't help but feel a little short - changed. There are barely any missions. So even replay value is somewhat diminished as going through the same narrow selection of missions becomes tiresome.
To be fair, an individual mission can be quite long. So, even if you want to play just one mission, be prepared to take a big chunk out of you day.

Overall, there is a lot of fun to be had here unloading '47s and RPGs into terrorists and inanimate objects alike. It looks and sounds brilliant and there is probably no better game for the PS2 in the "Lets Blow the F$*& Out of Evreything and Evreyone with a Kalashnikov" genre. But buy it cheap. Because the short length of this agme will leave you feeling distinctly out of pocket if you pay much over 10 Pounds for it.

One of the best5
Black has got to be one of the greatest PS2 games ever. Huge guns, breathtaking graphics and a half decent plot? Interested? You should be. Black arrived just as hype for PS3 was growing (and therefore as demand for PS2 games dwindled), and for that reason it may well be the best (in my humble opinion) game ever.

The graphics are astounding. The first level plunges you into the heart of some war-torn city. Grenades fly, doors burst open under shotgun fire, and shot-up cars make for some of the most impressive PS2 explosions ever. And that's not even the best bit.

My favourite level was that set in the graveyard. Gravestones disintegrate under gunfire against the beautiful PS2 dawn (yes, I know, a bit wet, but it is beautiful). Fantastic 10/10.

Black, PS2s best fps4
This game is undoubtedly one of the best games you can buy for the PS2. It has impressive graphics and gameplay unrivalled by many other first person shooters.

Some magazine reviews branded the game as 'lacking in storyline' but I dispute this, i felt absorbed and involved with the main character.

The only negative points for me were the lack of variation in the enemy soldiers, and the fact that there was no two player option. These are tiny disappointments when compared to the brilliance of the game.
