Customer Reviews

What a little blinder5
How good is this EP? Blinding.
The Blinding song is absolutely a raw mess, but under control. Also, the last track Sedative is a monster of a tune, devouring me and my whole family, but i broke free and listened to the EP again and again.
This Ep is a little peice of music gem for all Babyshambles, even Libertine fans too. It shows beyond a doubt that Doherty has gotten himself together and it firing on all creative cylinders.
He put thepipe down, and got that right sound. Ahmen, brother.

The Blinding Sublime5
It's symbolic of Pete Doherty's entire career that the title track of this EP should be interpreted by anyone who's ever reviewed it as being about the blinding glare of paparazzi bulbs. Hasn't anyone else noticed how Doherty (very obviously) pronounces 'it's so blinding' so you can hear 'it's sublime'? If you've ever read even a little bit, you'll know that the Romantic poets coined the term 'The sublime'. Put very simply, the sublime refers to something so exquisite and so terrible that it hurts to look at it, or experience it.The ultimate sublimity is 'the blinding'. And as Doherty writes 'it's the last thing that you'll ever see.' Kant wrote "Bedazzlement begins when perception crosses its tolerable maximum." This is about knowing how far you can go. Which is good news for all Babyshambles fans and bad news for the doom-monkeying tabloid journalists.

Getting there4
It's not great but its alot better than the Album and it's only an EP.. Definately a step in the right direction.

Whoever was having a go at the lyrics below doesn't know what the song is about obviously... Have a look about on the net - they are good lyrics but taken out of context and written like that, they look silly.

Take most lyrics and write them out and they look stupid!

My fav is the last track. They still sound rough (as they should) but it's controlled this time unlike on the album where it just sounded like a band on drugs..
