Customer Reviews
Oh dear!
Do not buy this. I wish that i'd read the warnings before i bought it, oh my is this a poor, poor DVD. I just didnt understand the reasoning behind making the documentary to be fair, they clearly didn't have the knowledge to carry it off. The only thing interesting is the bit at the beginning about Vince McMahon's childhood, the rest falls apart with the lack of knowledge and credible 'experts', one of which claimed he didn't even like wrestling.
A dire documentary, but on a positive note this actually got published so there's hope for wrestling fans interested in producing their own DVDs.
AWFUL!! AVOID!! - I Feel like i've been mugged
This was THE worst 60 minutes i have ever spent in my life.
My thinking was;
Wrestling with Shadows = Good
Beyond the Mat = Good
This However is So bad its beyond words.
I paid £7 for it which at the time i thought would be a bargain.. Oh how wrong I was!!
It is soo bad that if i was offered a refund if i watched it again i would say "No Thanks, keep the money"
Please heed this warning do not waste your cash as i did.
WWE: Unaothorised is Unfulfilling...haha see what I did there?
I rented WWE: Unauthorised from Amazon thinking that even though it's an unofficial Documentary, it might still be pretty good. I mean, Beyond the Mat wasn't really authorised by WWE, ECW or many other companies involved, and that is one of the best wrestling films I've seen.
But this is pretty damned awful.
Right from the get go you can see how cheap and cheesy this is. There are a few good points, like it covers Owen Hart's death, the steroid trial in 92/93, Montreal Screwjob and a few other things too. Though the telling of the Screjob falls victim to some big factual errors. Like one guy saying that Bret was screwed by being pinned, when that obviously was not what happened.
There are a lot more errors but they aren't as noticeble, really.
Somehow, the makers of this DVD managed to get Vince Russo and Tito Santana to do some interviews which does give this DVD a bit of a boost.
Bottom line, if you want a decent look at what goes on behind the scenes of WWE or wrestling companies in general, then get Beyond the Mat or Wrestling with Shadows.
If you want to laugh at factual errors by guys you've never heard of and cheap presentation, then get WWE: Unaouthorised!
