Manufacturer's Description

MacBook Pro includes Front Row and the Apple Remote. So, from anywhere in the room, you can present your ideas with 21st-century panache. Show off dailies. Play the latest mix. Click through your portfolio. Then head back to your hotel room to watch your favourite music videos, a video podcast downloaded from the iTunes Store, or a movie of your family holiday.

The Intel Core Duo chip inside MacBook Pro gives you the power of two processors wherever you go. Now it's a breeze to render complex 3D models, enjoy smooth playback of 1080p HD video, or host a four-way videoconference. If you need to present to a group, or you'd like to just watch MacBook Pro from across your hotel room, you've got everything you need. With the Front Row interface and Apple Remote, you're free to sit or stand across the room and present photos, movies and music at the click of your remote.A full-scale iSight camera built at the top of the MacBook Pro's display means you're ready for video conferencing via iChat wherever you are - no cords or cameras to plug in or carry around.Mobile users will love the new MagSafe Power Adapter featuring a magnetic DC plug that both ensures a tight connection and enables a clean break from the power port when there is undue tension. It prevents the MacBook Pro from being pulled off of a desk when the cord is accidentally tripped over, and it protects the power cord from wear and tear.

Now showing on MacBook Pro

Enjoy — and share — your music, movies and photos from across the room on a gorgeous, portable display. Control the mood of the room with instant access to iTunes music and playlists. Or listen to your favourite radio programme or Internet talk show anytime. Best of all, MacBook Pro lets you display your own creations with professional flair.

All in the family

Let MacBook Pro and Front Row entertain you by playing songs, slideshows, and videos from other computers in the house. Buy new music in the kitchen, play it in your living room. MacBook Pro automatically finds networked computers under your roof — whether they be wireless or wired. Sounds like magic, but it’s just the Bonjour instant networking technology built into every Mac.

Under your thumb

The Apple Remote features a minimalist six buttons. Press Menu to activate Front Row to navigate through your media. You can even use the remote to control Keynote presentations in iWork ’06.

The ultimate digital portfolio

Forget lacklustre client meetings where you page through hard copies of your portfolio. Front Row makes it possible to showcase your digital work the way it was meant to be seen: on a brilliant 15- or 17-inch display, at the touch of the Apple Remote.

Software update

If you already own a MacBook Pro, you can download updated Front Row software via the Software Update function in System Preferences.

On the go.

Projector ready

MacBook Pro with Front Row works with a host of projectors, thanks to DVI, VGA, S-video and composite connectivity.

You’ve seen improvements in notebook performance before — but never on this scale. That’s because the Intel Core 2 Duo powering MacBook Pro is actually two execution cores built into a single chip.

Lucky number 7x

Combined with 4MB L2 cache and a myriad of other engineering leaps, the Intel Core 2 Duo boosts performance up to 39% higher than the previous MacBook Pro and over 7x higher than the fastest PowerBook G4. With this awesome power, it’s a breeze to render complex 3D models, enjoy smooth playback of 1080p HD video or host a four-way video conference.

More power, using less power

The Intel Core 2 Duo uses Intel’s groundbreaking 65-nanometre process — resulting in transistors so small, you could fit a hundred inside a single human cell. With smaller distances for electrons to travel, and two execution cores designed to share resources and conserve power, the Intel Core 2 Duo achieves higher levels of performance as it uses fewer watts. Which is what makes it possible to design a super-powerful MacBook Pro that’s only 2.59 cm (one inch) thin.

    No blue screens here...4
First time I have ditched windows and I will never go back. This does everything easily, never goes wrong and is very fast. Fully compatible if you have the software and it is very cool to look at and use.

    Garbage.2
I payed over £2000 for mine in February 2006. I'm sorry i did. I've used Macs for work for years and this is the worst computer i have ever bought. The amount of problems i have had with it is pathetic.

The CD drive casing bends closing up the CD area.
    The keys came off.
The power cable wore and snapped after a couple of months.
The Battery overheated and needed to be replaced.
The casing gets so hot that the paint starts wearing away.
The build quality is terrible. The case is warped and the track pad had a dent in it.
The screen has 'Cigarette Burn' type marks in it.

These are quite common problems with this model. Apple sorted only two out for me. I'll stick to iMacs next time. That is if i feel like i can buy an Apple again...
