Customer Reviews

Reprehensible, risible and actionable... But great fun. You'll like it, just don't agree with it!4
Well... Where to start?

Did you think Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" was a disgrace and a travesty against decent values? Then you really don't want to be here. And the recent use of the "N" word in Big Brother? Were you shocked and appalled? Then, please, click that back arrow.

And please, don't even take the chance because you think you're open-minded. Unless you know you can take this kind of stuff, just leave now.

If however you are the kind of person that can appreciate the humour even if the context is dubious; can differentiate between a joke and something hateful (I can think of several currently doing the rounds about Lewis Hamilton which in no way detracts from his brilliance nor my admiration for him, but they are funny and they are disgusting.) then this might just be for you. But remember, even the cover art reads "WARNING: Contains deeply offensive material on all levels... No, really" And it's not joking.

So don't say you haven't been warned!

Basically, this is Ginger on downtime from the Wildhearts doing a country pastiche. The music is 'Devil Went Down To Georgia', Dukes of Hazzard-esque up-tempo good ol' boy country boogie; with tongue firmly in cheek. There's even a cover of the Wildhearts' 'Caffine Bomb' that's almost Bluegrass in style. Amazingly it's pretty good.

There are pastiches of Country favourites like 'Country Roads' ('C**ts On Roads'), 'Wichita Lineman' ('Columbian Lineman') and '50 Ways To Leave Your Lover' ('5,000,000 Ways To Kill Your Baby') and its fun to try and spot the Country theme tunes that pop up every so often. There's Bonanza and Dallas and even the `Sweet Child O' Mine' riff makes an appearance. And like everything Ginger turns his hand to, it's ludicrously catchy: the guy sure does know how to write a tune.

Lyrically however, your jaw's gonna be hitting the floor on more than a few occasions. Check the track listing and try to imagine how sick each song is going to be. Yep, sure, 'Say It With Herpes' is pretty obvious and 'A Lil Bit `O Gravy...' heads exactly where you think it's going to go. But 'I'd Rather Have A Dick In My Ass...' is genius; a perfect f**k you to an unwanted ex. On the flip side comes 'The Hands Of A Child'. Genius, but certainly one of the most disturbing things I've ever heard. It's a tender and beautiful ballad but if you can listen to it more than a few times you're way more of a disturbed person than me!

And don't get me started on 'Homosexual Punchbag In A Wheelchair'! It's fantastic (and I hate myself :o) )

To sum up, Howling Willie C**t's 'World Of Filth' is an abomination against good taste and does not deserve your money. Please, don't buy it!
