Customer Reviews

Oh Dear, what a disappointment2
I agree with the previous review, what a disappointment this printer is. I've given it 2 stars because it was easy to set up. The rest I've deducted because the paper jams constantly, very irritating, it's now started to clack and rattle so loudly I'm thinking of wearing ear muffs in the office.

We contacted Samsung who said it was dust. How the heck can dust make a printer rattle like a machine gun going off! Anyway, we followed their advice of dusting it inside, it didn't help.

Now it's printing faint down the left margin. I now have to keep making the margins bigger to get good print quality, at this rate I'll be typing letters the size of a bookmark. Put it this way, we won't be buying another Samsung printer.

Would not recommend1
It seemed great at first, probably because it does beat a Ink Jet.

BEWARE ONE MAJOR PROBLEM

If like me you don't do a lot of colour printing, but use it a lot for Black printing (about 6 times a day), beware as every time it warms up, it "tests" the ink. This is means after not using colour for around 8-10 weeks, it managed to go through an entire colour cartridge. Basically the Cyan toner, which was as good as full, within 2 months it was empty, and I hadn't even printed in colour, purely due to the printer distributing the toner every time it warmed up. And worst of all it wont let you use it if any of the colour carts are empty, even if you only want to print mono.

As these carts cost £40 each, thats £120 of toner wasted if you print regular black prints over the space of a couple of months.

I would have to agree with other reviews, that paper jams are frequent, and also prints a line of text every few pages that rubs out easily. Had it a few months, and its served its purpose, but with high running costs, and frequent poor prints, its time to get a new machine, and have to say will avoid Samsung like the plague.

It may seem a bargain, but will cost you a fortune in toner, and even worse it may even cost you a fortune in toner that never makes it onto paper!!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID.

A nice printer5
Easy to set up although you need additional drivers for Vista. A compact printer that produces quick and nice looking prints. Colours look rich, which for the price overall, is what you pay for. Toners are affordable with a good output. Recommended budget printer.
