Synopsis
Straight-to-video sequel to the 2001 dance-drama blockbuster SAVE THE LAST DANCE. Izabella Miko steps into Julia Stiles' pointe shoes as aspiring ballerina Sara Johnson, who leaves her Chicago ghetto to study dance at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, under the tutelage of dance instructor Monique Delacroix (Jacqueline Bisset). As the story unfolds, Sara tangles with a jealous rival (Maria Brooks) and falls for a young professor (Columbus Short), ensuring that the sequel is awash with the same brand of passion and drama that made its parent film such a hit.
Customer Reviews
You'll love this if you liked the first one!
This film was your typical feel good dance flick.
If you love films like Centre stage and the first save the last dance, you'll love this!
It carrys on from the first film, where Sarah goes to dance school, and is trying to see how she can be a prima ballerina and a hip hop dancer. The film is highly watchable and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Great music!!
A let down
I was expecting to like this after loving the first and also liking dancing movies. But this was a let down, it was boring, and the dancing wasn't great. If you like hip hop and street dancing buy Step Up 2 instead, the dancing in that is amazing, and after watching that you can see how bad the dancing in this is. The girl who played Sarah was no where near as good as Julia Stiles which ruined it for me, it was like watching a different film not the sequel.
The overall film was ok, not the worst film I've seen, however there are a lot better films based on dancing then this
Boring Boring Boring
I didn't even want to give this movie 1 star but I didn't see an option for 0. This film is nothing compared to the first, I don't even know why they bothered to make a sequel. All of the lead roles have been changed and I don't think it follows on from the first film properly. It's more like a film in it's own right and to call it a sequel to the much loved Save The Last Dance is a crime.
The passion, the storyline and plots are all missing, the character relationships are not so strong, even the music isn't as good and I'm sorry but the dancing isn't good either. I kept waiting to get in to this film and start falling in love with it like I did with the first film (which I have seen literally a million times) but it just didn't happen. This film didn't grip me like the first, it didn't touch me.
I really wouldn't advise anybody to waste their money on this rubbish. It is a complete waste of time.
