Editorial Reviews

Album Description
It happens in the movies but it never happens in real life. Teenage girls simply don't sing a couple of songs over a tinny karaoke tape, get plucked from the slush pile and signed up by the most successful composer of musicals alive.

Unless you're Andrea Ross.

The 15 year old from Boston, Massachusetts has been signed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and her debut album Moon River will be released on March 5th 2007.

The creator of epoch defining musicals like Evita and Phantom of the Opera certainly knows how to pick great female singers from nowhere but Andrea may eclipse them all. She's a superb natural actress with a commanding, vivid, stage presence and a pure, powerful soprano voice. When she sings she inhabits the soul of the song, articulating emotions she has no right to understand and throughout it all she smiles.

At 13 when Andrea sent Lloyd Webber two songs she recorded over a bootleg karaoke backing track. His assistant heard the tracks and trapped her boss in a corner until he heard it. The next thing Andrea knew was that she was flying out to LA to audition.

Says Lloyd Webber "She's still only 15 and it is going to be great to see her develop, she has enormous potential to become a very big artist".

Her debut album Moon River was recorded in London and produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber during 2006. It features Eva Cassidy's Songbird, a delightful modern take on Moon River, stunning versions of Popular, Heart Like A Wheel and The Prayer as well as some lesser known gems from the Lloyd Webber catalogue.

Excellence! 5
I heard a few tracks she had recorded on iTunes and was blown away. There is something special about someone with such a pure and beautiful voice, singing the songs without the needed to wail or perform vocal gymnastics for cheap effects. There are too many Mariah Carey wanabees who screech and wail, losing the meaning of eloquent songs and removing the emotion in doing so. Not so hear. Songs sung in a way that lets you see their beauty and also that of Andrea Ross' voice.

This album should be amazing, based on the preview and the tracks I have heard, I can't wait. First for the release, and then to see how she matures into an even better singer in time.

She's going to be a huge star5
I first heard of Andrea Ross when she performed at the Sydmonton Festival and since then I've been waiting for this album. She has such a clear, exemplory voice and her delivery is absolutely perfect. She has terrific stage presence to go with her beautiful voice and she will without a doubt be one of the hits of 2007.

I can't believe this girl is 15 years old - what a voice! Her rendition of 'Moon River' is gorgeous and will melt your heart. I came across it whilst listening to Classic FM TV and immediately fell in love with it, having been a fan of Breakfast at Tiffanys for years. I was also thrilled to find that the 60's TV theme 'White Horses' is featured on the album, and what a delight it is, I'd like to hear more from Andrea Ross soon please!
