Manufacturer's Description
Los Angeles, 1979. You are Kyle Hyde, an ex-cop turned salesman trying to track down a missing friend. Clues lead you to an eerie, old hotel rumored to have one very strange room a room where wishes are granted. It's up to you to unravel the mystery in Hotel Dusk: Room 215, a gritty new graphic adventure for Nintendo DS.
The DS system is held like a book, which allows characters on the screens to face left or right for more realistic conversations. The unique controls let even novices enjoy themselves. The unique hand-drawn character portraits and their animations are in black and white, making them exceedingly distinctive and able stand out, graphically speaking, from the rest of the game.
In the tradition of Another Code, the use of the DS to solve riddles is alive and well in Hotel Dusk: Room 215.

great game but could be so much longer
I got entirely addicted to this game, but i completed it in just over a week.
the graphics are really nice, and the way that the characters are shown as if they were drawn made me feel much more absorbed into the gameplay. you should, i should note, be quite interested in reading and detective stories.
the music has some good points and bad points, but it is the most effective where it counts.
the effect of holding the ds on its side is a nice touch, and really i don't think it would have the same effect without it.
only bad points, are that it doesn't have fantastic replay value and it could have been longer. with a longer story this could have a great sequel or an even better successor.
-OFF SUBJECT-bring escape the room point and clicks to ds! please! i love having the challenge of figuring out how to escape!
Good, but not quite 5 stars
This game was a solid piece of entertainment. The graphics were original and good, the plot excellent and overall, a stunning and original game, great for us fans of old ''point and click'' adventure stories. However, much too often I found myself knocking doors and wandering about because I hadn't a clue what to do next. I disliked the fact I could only pick things up in play order, thus I needed the pencil but could only pick it up very late in the game when kyle had a use for it. But given the extreme lack of games of this genre, it's a must have for any fans of mystery and a good plot to get your teeth into.
Please God, let it be a sequel to this game!!
I enjoyed playing this game so much I almost cried when it was all over, not only because it is a great game, but also because the end of the film.. sorry the story, is kind of sad and leaves you feeling rather melancholic.
This game is fantastic. The puzzles and tasks are perhaps a bit on the easy side. Although it is quite challenging and does have a few tough spots, here and there, I personally would have enjoyed a little more difficulty. I also wish the story and game would have gone on for a bit longer; It was all over far too soon...
The story and atmosphere are very absorbing and kept me hooked all the way to the very end. This is a game like no other. Perhaps more of an interactive book than a game due to the vast amount of dialogue.
The over the top, film-noir-like dialogues are immensely enjoyable, and the main character Kyle Hyde is just charming as the rugged and emotionaly damaged ex New York Police Detective trying to make peace with his own past.
Finishing this game has left a void I can't fill with anything else. There is truly no other game like this currently, so let's hope there will be a sequel to Hotel Dusk some time soon.
