Editorial Reviews
CD Description
On their self-titled debut album, Boston band Boys Like Girls offer up 12 tracks of upbeat, catchy pop-rock. BOYS LIKE GIRLS contains elements of punk and emo and offers seamless songs with more hooks than a meat locker. The musicianship is tight, the lyrics are heartfelt and simple, and singer Martin Johnson's plaintive vocals are consistently solid. Boys Like Girls first garnered attention by simply posting some demos online, and fans who were enthusiastic about those few tracks will be ecstatic about the band's first full-length album.

Boys Like Girls - On Top Of The World?
Disregarding the painfully lousy band name, this CD is emphatically one of my favourites of 2007, and it's only just April, although only twelve tracks, they all sustain strong, perfect composition and have made BLG vastly become one of my favourite bands, in just a few months, leaving me yearning for more tracks.
Barely out of their teens, these boys are majorly underrated in the UK and have already toured Europe, and are continually on the road, these lads are set to be huge along with tour buddies `Hellogoodbye' and label mates `The View'
This album screams of teen angst, adolescent love stories and generally being youthfully free this is the ideal soundtrack to any summer, tracks such as `Heels over head' and `Dance hall drug' are so flawlessly catchy you'll have them on repeat for hours, even the less infectious `Up against the wall' and `On top of the world' are growers, and still emerging on my most played directory.
`Holiday,' `Broken Man' and `Thunder' set the perfect balance between the immaculate pop punk hooks and the sweet melodic refined `slow songs.'
Although Boys like girls in reality are nothing new they are almost definitely one of the greatest at what they do right now, BLG are wonderful for fans of Cartel, Cute Is What We Aim For, and all harmless pop punk boy bands.
Goof
If your a fan of All American Rejects, then you'l like this. A bunch of lively tracks with some stop start songs with plenty of drums and fast singing makes this Band stick out. As usual all songs are about girls or love!, but this is nothing new but these guys have hit the nail on the head in achieving what they do. Tracks that stick out are Thunder and Great Escape.
Totally awesome !
I first heard Thunder when a friend of mine played it to me, having brought the CD herself. From then, I was hooked. The lead singer is only seventeen! That is talent!! I would definatly recommend this album to anyone. Each track is different from the rest, and once you've finished listening to this CD you will wish there were more tracks.
