Amazon.co.uk Review
With young, British, soul stars like Amy Winehouse, Paolo Nutini, and Joss Stone crashing the American charts, what better time to celebrate the return of one of the original great blue-eyed soul singers, Simply Red's curly-mopped Mick Hucknall? Despite being dropped by its label in 2002, his band has flourished on its own, both artistically and commercially. Stay, Simply Red's third independent release, loses none of the crisp soul-jazz beauty that marked the group's late '80s heyday. It has a younger, fresher feel than 2003's elegant Home, but that does lead to more of a mixed bag. A pair of bite-the-hand-that-feeds protest tunes, "Money TV" and "The Death of the Cool," fall wide of the mark, but Hucknall makes up for it when he lets his shimmering voice rise above the electronic fanfare, delivering the classic love song "So Not Over You." Meanwhile, "They Don't Know" and the lively "Oh! What A Girl" prove that he can still give the new generation of soul singers a run for their money. --Aidin Vaziri

I cant stay away5
I first came across this album by watching the Albert Hall concert DVD. I thought it was superb. Up until recently I only had a copy of the 'New Flame' album from 20 years or so ago.Having heard a lot of the tracks from 'Stay' on the concert DVD I just had to get the album. Since then I have collected the rest(all 10) from Amazon and Ebay. They are all great but this one is superb. It's a shame its going to be the last Simply Red Album in the studio. Mick will certainly be setting himself a challenge to maintain this standard after his planned tour in 2009. There aren't really any stand out tracks as after 4 or 5 listens they are all great!

Fantastic and Soul Uplifiting/ Many thanks to Band5
Even if you are not fan of Simply red but need to hear a fantastic mixture of jazz+blues+pop, you will love this album. Really have to raise my hat to this band for playing such a music that touched every cell of my body on both physical ( made me dance) and spiritual level ( feeling deep love). What beautiful melodies and vocal voice that stir you toward moving with your feeling. Eventhough the band is successful for over 15 years but amazes me that each time they can come up with something new which is not only "simply red" but "Simply Beautiful".
I salute to Michael and band and all their fan and I hope they continue their play for many many years.

Finally, Micheal, I know that Barry White was your great fan and am sure he enjoys deeply your album with his soul and saying "well done boys". Your music is not just a joy for "human-being" but also for "spiritual-being".
