Customer Reviews

Resurrection5
It appears that this band have tweaked their sound, to a clearer vision. The sound effects are there and are now a part of the music
(and not just pulverized by the bass and guitars)
The first track and title track sets the mood of the whole album and is a very strong song on it's own (I just love that riff)
Worthless has an almost up-beat feel to it despite the title. Pleasures in pain a melodic highlight.
Overall a very satisfying album and a good addition to anyone's collection.

A BETTER THAN GOOD ALBUM5
i really love chimaira's music i do, i have done for quite a while now, i was looking forward to hearing this album, and i dont know what people are on about with chimaira's "mistake before"...what mistakes?! they have no mistakes, they are good, and this album is their best, it beats the others, it is slightly different from the other albums, the songs are generally longer and seem more complex but they still have the same ol' bang and it hits you with force! Chimaiara's double bass in my opinion is their quality, they know how to use double bass well and it goes so well when they use it (quite alot) it is top stuff. this album gets a full on FIVE STAR rating from me...better than the rest!

Chimaira's best yet!5
This album is amazing and fits together amazingly so.. as well as having been released on my birthday :)

5/5 Resurrection: I got this song at christmas from their myspace and have been blown away every time.. the first time I heard it I was gagging for more. The drumming is really cool and I think I might learn it :)

4.5/5 Pleasure in Pain: Leads on very nicely from Resurrection and has a nice catchy chorus.

5/5 Worthless: Starts with a very cool drum solo kinda thing before slowing down into a steady but brutal pace, a really good song.

4.4/5 Six: Despiting being track four not six as the title suggests it is agood song and longest on the album at around 9 minutes but there is never a dull moment.

4.5/5 No Reason To Live: Starts with a slow guitar rhythm be jumping straing into anohter great song with some snare rolls, nice and catchy chorus agian :)

4/5 Killing the Beast: Very different kind of song to the rest of the album... it is slow but steady and took me a while to work out the tom combonations he used in the Rhythm.

5/5 The Flame: Another great song with a 'intresting' intro which sums up what the whole song is about. Has a great little vox overlay towards the end and a neat lil drum rhythm which appears for a few bars which is really cool!

5/5 End It All: More of a traditional chimaira song which is faster tempo wise than previous songs on the album and has some neat double bassing :).I love it!

4.5/5 Black Heart: This song has a neat lil guitar line at the beginning and goes back to the generally slower feel of this album.

4/5 Needle: This is a good song but isn't quite on the same level of the rest of the album.. that said it is still pretty good and deserves to be on there!

4.5/5 Empire: Love this song.. more of a black metally feel to it with the syn over the music and mixes in a few differnet playing styles but it still chimaira underneath and a great exit to agreat album.

The extra DVD that comes with the Limited Edition is very funny... more of a comedy really and I love the soundtrack ha!

Overall I give the album 5/5 as it is amazing, well worth a buy!
