Customer Reviews

Excellent, if pricey...5
Ok, So I moved house, and discovered that my old Netgear DG834G was struggling to broadcast the WiFi around the new house, and also that there was quite a lot of lag once the connection was active.

So I initially bought the Netgear DG834N to replace it - A week later and no improvement later, i sent it back to Amazon - my old DG834G was better.

However the lag issue was really bugging me still. So, as I already had a Macbook Pro, I shelled out the dough and tried the Airport Extreme Base Station. Took a little while to set up, and initially i was disappointed with the signal strength.

However, I then fiddled around with the settings and got it to transmit on the N only signal at 5GHz and it works a treat. Lightning fast surfing now, and rock sold signal strength.

I was so pleased!

The downside?

Well, it hasn't an ADSL Modem built in - so I use my old DG834G as the modem with the Airport plugged into it. Not an ideal setup I agree, but needs-must with me given I was at the end of my teather.

Don't Bother...2
Once finally setup it worked well but setup can be annoying. Having had it now for 12 months its just decided to die on me with the warranty literally last week. Im totally a mac guy but this has been nothing but a waste of money.
