Excellent piece of kit
I bought one of these for our bedroom, can't get the wife out of there now as she loves it!
Not sure if the previous reviewer has the same piece of equipment as our HP3 works really well at high volumes with no distortion. Recently compared it to the Bose equivalent and there's very little in it in terms of performance.
Spent ages trying to find one before I got it, spotted them last week in a large Supermarket at a lower price than I've seen anywhere by some margin.
Excellent
We ordered the speakers on new years day through Amazon and they arrived before 9am on 3rd January which made me very happy. They were really easy to set up and we got it working straight away. It isn't as big as we thought so fits nicely in the kitchen. For the price the sound quality is very good and the radio is a brilliant additional feature making it more usefull. The remote is also very handy and again makes the unit easy to use. We have noticed that when you turn the speakers off the i-pod stays on so remember to turn it off also. I would highly recommend these speakers.
Good product
I echo the thoughts of the review below. £ for £, this system is comparable with the Bose system. Considering that the Bose costs £250 and the Gear4 is available from a well-known supermarket chain for £50 - the lack of difference in sound is suprising. And the Bose one doesn't even have a remote function that allows you to scroll through the menu! The Gear4 does and although this function is limited (you have to be pretty close to the iPod to see the screen), it is handy.
My girlfriend and I have got it set up in the bedroom and it works well and sounds good.
I wouldn't be using this piece of equipment for parties becuase it's not a hi-fi system replacement. However, I think it sounds pretty good at high volumes, considering it's only 30W etc...
