Poor People Defender Nah Switch5
The Poor people Defender as he is known had already caught peoples attention with the release of his first solo album Better days, and with the release of his follow up, the aptly named GASH DEM it would appear that his success are only set to continue.

"a big man like you rape off a 6 yr old baby a big man like you pop off yuh gun and put nine pon a likkle ole lady a big man like you bunn dung a school and a talk bout yuh mad sick and crazy but when GOD hol yuh nuh if nor nuh but nuh badda tell almighty bout maybe"

It's only when you read the lyrics that certain people can perhaps understand just exactly what Chuck Fender is saying in this opening track that was banned from radio stations in Jamaica for reasons not entirely clear.

In this album The Poor Peoples defender continues where he left off in calling for equal treatment for the poor the undermined and the unseen.

There has been a recent wave of artists coming through who have tried to ride the bobo banner but Fender is neither bobo or jumping on a bandwagon, his uncompromising style have rightly earned him a place on stages worldwide.

To individually name all the tracks on this album would take to much space and so I'll simply sum it up by saying, think fyah lyrics, excellent production and a delivery that would leave more experienced artists struggling to provide then think of four words. THE POOR PEOPLE DEFENDER, he nah swich and him come fi gash all oppossition

Chuck Fenda - The Living Fire5
This has got to be one of the best albums I've heard in a long time. It's not often I listen to an album and like all the tracks. The 2nd track - Gash Dem - caused controversy in Jamaica and was banned as a result. I've listened to the track many times and cannot see any reason why it was banned. Why ban a track that clearly states that he disagrees with peoples bad ways, and disassociates himself from badness????????? In the following track, he defends himself by saying that plenty of songs are on the radio talking about gangsters and gun shots/shooting people, and they haven't been banned. Well said Chuck! If you're looking for an album dealing with sense, encouragement to live good and positive lyrics, this is for you.
