Great game
I managed to get my hands on this game, and I have to so I do like it. The graphics are great, the ps3 is capable of a lot more but these are nothing to complain about. Gameplay is great, an increasing use of the sixaxis is good, slamming people into walls and general beatings. Being left to your own devices at times is good, a bit reminiscent of GTA, so you can sculpt your own path through the game, whilst having the set missions and side missions. Overall, great game, great graphics, you wont be getting bored of this one anytime soon, and a definate addition to your growing ps3 gaming library.
Thought I might be disappointed .... i'm not
After finally taking the plunge and getting a ps3 I obviously needed to get some games to play on it, this was one and the elder scrolls iv:oblivion was the other (Another great game).
I wasn't sure what to expect from this one because it is basically a ps2 port slightly upgraded and lengthened for the ps3 but I do love the GTA games and this one sounded the most like GTA available on ps3 right now.
I have to say i'm very impressed with it, in some ways it's better than GTA and it's definitely a game I could play again.
The map is huge, maybe not on a par with San Andreas but much bigger than Vice city, the missions are as enjoyable as any GTA game and if you die during a mission you don't lose your weapons and you can start again from the last checkpoint. That's the part that to me makes the game slightly better than GTA, there's nothing more annoying in the GTA games than dying, losing all your weapons and then having to reload your last game save and start the mission again right from the beginning, the inclusion of regular checkpoints in the Godfather is a great idea and one that GTA iv should learn from. The story line is also great, including parts of the story from the original film and a few new bits added in relating to the character you play, I actually watch the cut scenes in this rather than quickly pushing X like I do in GTA.
Overall this is a great game and well recommended to any one who's a fan of this type of game, the only minor gripe I have is that the graphics aren't as good as they could be on the ps3... but this is after all a ps2 port.
Happy gaming.
same old fun
This game is good fun just like the ps2 version and I've got it. The game follows the story of the film and some side missions witch are all pretty much the same but it is fun and the sixaxis work well for picking people up and throwing them around. The shooting is the same as far as I can see and most of the gameplay. The only reason why it's been pulled out of launch title(i got it from another website) is because the age rating on the box and on the disc is wrong. I think this game is 18 not fifteen like it says on the disc!! I dont know why its say its got an expansion in it I think its more things to do and stuff to shoot. the graphics on this game arn't bad but i expect better from the PS3 in the futur I hope this review helped you!
