Buy your engagement ring 2nd hand after watching this!!5
A stunning performance, not only by Leonardo DiCaprio, but all the cast. Brings to light the bloody diamond trade in Africa - "TIA" This Is Africa!! Buy your diamonds 2nd hand after this and sleep easy at night. Well worth watching and leads to discussion after.

great movie but crap blu ray3
Dont listen to the guy below K. =Izmen, he doesnt know wot he is talking about, I assure you.

Blood diamond is a very impressive movie but I would only recommend buying it on dvd. The transfer is shoddy becuase it is way too unclear and doesnt really justify HD or the big expensive tv you may have bought. I can see a bit of ghosting going on whcih is shambolic since I had it running a a stable resolution of 1080 x 1920. However, it could have been the player resolving american framerates as the one I have is american
Therefore, I wouldnt say this is a worthy blu ray to have in a collection , provided youre in it for the movie than the audiovisual quality. I would recommend buying The last samurai, the prestige- which both have high quality image quality. Top of the pile is Planet Earth which has immense picture/audio transfer and easily out does any blu ray i HAVE EVER SEEN. It is expensive but it is a great long term investment bevcause you will come back to it. Why it has the best picture quality is mainly becuase it is shot in 1080i HD but also nodds to BBC for putting the care into the transfer.

Pretty good movie, better on DVD3
some of the stuff k.izmen says is true and so is some of saps stuff is. I think Blood diamond has an unclear transfer and frankly doesn't deserve to be shot in HD. Blood diamond gives blue-ray a bad name
