Synopsis
In this adaptation of Jane Austen's classic book, poverty-stricken Fanny Price (Billie Piper) is sent away to live with her wealthy uncle and aunt at Mansfield Park. As she struggles to adapt to her new lifestyle she begins to attract the attentions of suitors, learning about the sexual politics of high society along the way.

Ghastly adaptation of the book. Billie Piper was so miscast. Wouldn't waste my time watching it.

Enjoyable
I am a big fan of period dramas and have read the book. I completely see what people are saying but i don't think it was any more untrue to the book than the previous production and it was a lot more enjoyable. The ending was a little rushed however.

Enjoyable story but dreadful Fanny!
What was the idea of having Fanny running around the house?? In the book she is a very delicate and sensitive personality which illustrates her character perfectly. This tomboy we see tearing around the corridors of Mansfield Park is completely out of character. Apart from this awful portrayal, I actually enjoyed the other characters and the way the story flowed, which is why it has 2 stars and not 1. It baffles me why producers making adaptations from books feel the need to change key things (like the characters or the plot). If you are wanting to change these things, you are better off writing your own stories and not ruining perfectly excellent stories like those of the brilliant Jane Austen!
