With the Hitman series already well established, Danish developer Io Interactive are not exactly masters of the family friendly game. This latest effort is their most violent and shocking yet, as you take control of reluctant mercenary Kane and his schizophrenic partner Lynch. Neither character likes the other but for the purposes of the story they have to work together in a series of violent third person shoot outs. By default you control Kane, with the computer or another player taking on the role of Lynch. As the game progress you will also be able to recruit a team of up to eight mercenaries, with your reputation determining the quality of the personnel applying for the job. Ordering your squad around is easy enough but since any of them, particularly Lynch, can have completely different objectives to you, they won't always take orders - particularly if they've taken a dislike to you already - which is a real problem when you want them to administer some first aid.
Although it is much more action packed than the Hitman games, there are obviously similarities between the two games, with highly interactive environments and multiple ways to approach any problem. One particular highlight already demonstrated involves a kidnapping at a rave with Kane & Lynch firing into the air to disperse a large crowd of dancers before engaging in a brutal gun battle with security guards, as the sound and music system continues to flash and blare. If the rest of the game is just as inventive with its scenarios then Io may well keep Kane and Lynch alive for a little longer.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly (Lynch)
I actually quite like this game contrary to what other people say. It is pretty sick in parts, but has plenty of fun value and locations to it.
Sure it has bugs, what game doesnt. The main bug that gets to me is that the AI can shoot you through walls when your taking cover, however obviously you cant shoot them back. This is a glitch that needs addressing in the next volume.
Other than that, if you can get past the rather blocky visuals (PS2 style), you have a very fun shootem up.
I hope at the very least people will either try out the demo, on the Playstation network, which is what made me buy the game. If you can get it for around £15, you cant go wrong.
Enjoy!
KANE & LYNCH Broken or is it.
A great game it is not, it has moments of greatness but nothing spectaclar.
The game lacks three things,
1: THERE IS NO AUTO AIM, or spring to aim.
Aiming is as in real life difficult and patiance is needed.
2: No change of view either to first or to further away.
3: Controller commands could be quicker and more responsive.
(I dont have an issue with the team commands its Lynch (is he the mad one) thats a liability and he must be watched and controlled or he will be away off on his own vidoe game).
Problems with graphics?, not too many they ussually come in the "on the fly movies glitchy" rather than in game. Daughter model could have been more polished like all the other guys in the MOVIE/GAME.
In conclusion if they fixed the problems above they would have had a brilliant game being more responsive and faster paced. For me it is a blast I bought it out of curiosity but has no replay value I can see, which is dissapointing. Sorry but you messed up a great game and now I will think twice before I buy the next installment of Hitman, (to date I have them all).
7/10 OK
this game is !#'#
i won this after entering a compitition.i started playing it with my friends and all we could think of was bad points."how can he take so many shots" "what!!! i'm dead again!" " for crying out loud can you just take some cover for once" "how much more swearing can you put in a sentaence." as you can tell we where very dissapointed. one of the only half decent things is the story line. which is the only thing that keeps you through the dreadful times of playing the game. but even that just boring.
a major fall in the game is the cover system and the life system. taking cover is a nightmare as it's just very hard. when trying to take cover you just keep walking in the wall doing nothing! and when you do get cover you loss it by accident and have to repeat the process yet again.
if your playing single player beware. when you die someone in your crew has to heal you. good idea but noone go rushing up to hell you and when they do you just get shot again or the person healing just shot so fires back and leaves you dead on the fall.
the only things that has stop me from throwing this disgrace into bin is the online mode. the online mode consites of you and some other people online robbing a palce. after you take some money and run for the van. you or the other people can become traitors, making a gmae of who can you trust. when you have become a tritor everyone wants you dead because of a bonus reward of money. after finishing a level online you can buy some extra armor or guns to help you the next time through.
this game is just not worth buying. not only is the gameplay bad due to, hard to get cover, dieing and no one healing you, just so much swearing it becomes not funny anymore and boring missions (including having to do a mission twice, hows idea was that)
don't what ever you do buy this game
