Customer Reviews

fair to midland 3
New years revolution, this being the third and what could well be the final one, being that this years was cancelled with no known reason,is again a bit average, but is certainly saved with some matches that perhaps werent meant to be the matches of the night.
The event opened with a cracking match,a steel cage match for the intercontiental championship, the champ jeff hardy defended it against johnny nitro, this was a real eye opener,if you blinked ,you would miss something, fast and energetic with some very innovative and suicidal like moves this had it all and the ending was funny and brilliant.
A tag team turmoil match was up next and the winners would get a shot at the tag titles at some juncture down the road,it was a bonus match added on the night and although it wasnt an abvious filler the match had some good things, some average and some poor, teaming hacksaw and supercrazy smacked of desperation but we also had the highlanders, cade and murdoch, the worlds greatest tag team and cryme tyme,it was an ok bout all round but we have seen better tag team turmoil matches.
We then had a match that wasnt much better than their previous matches on RAW so that wasnt that good,we had ric flair going up against kenny dykstra, this was a middle of the road match, kenny had a very good match and was certainly very dominant, arrogant and precise with the moments he had, flair wasnt at his best tonight and was a bit too fond of the reverse knife edge slap for my liking but this match wasnt a complete waste by any stretch.
The wowens title was up for grabs next as a very dominant victoria got her title chance against mickie james, this match was decent enough, victoria is certainly a capable athlete and i must mention that her finisher move, widows peak is a real beauty, few would get out of that one, mickie had a very good match also and in the end this wasnt half bad.
The tag team titles were up for grabs next, rated rko, randy orton and edge were the champs and they went up against DX,Shawn michaels and HHH,this match had alot of hype going in and this felt like a real feud, you could believe the hate here, much like some of the classic feuds of the 80s and 90s,this was just a great one and blood would flow as it did when these men fought before, the beating that rated rko handed out to DX's pal ric flair weeks prior to this was class.
The match was very good indeed, the match was brutal but contained at first with both teams enjoying dominance and selling their intentions very well then the guide went out the window when triple H injured his quadricep for real,he would be out until summerslam as a result, the men all looked like lost sheep when this happened and werent sure what to do,randy orton attempted a rko when triple H was almost on the ground was the kind of thing im talking about but then bedlam happened as blood and lack of order went hand in hand and the ending was terrific in its violence,a job well done in the end.
There was filler next as had carlito and cghris masters going for it,the crowd were unfocused here as were these two men who were still heels to an extent so the crowd were hardly dancing on their seats,a cheap enough ending came at the end of a poor match.
Main event time next, the undefeated umaga got the title chance he craved for against john cena, this match wasnt red hot,far from it,their royal rumble match was better, they enjoyed a fair share of in ring chemistry but this wasnt quite enough to call this a classic,a few botched moves and a slowed down tempo towards the end meant that we didnt get all that we should have but i was surprised at the winner so there you go,an average event, some good, some bad and all thats in between,3 stars.

NOT A BAD START FOR 20074
The first pay- per view of 2007 was not a disappointment that much to kick off the new year with New Years Revolution.

First match-Jeff Hardy vs. Johnny Nitro w/ Melina in a Steel Cage match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

This was a great steel cage match with no flaws as these two men put on great matches when they are in the ring together. Jeff Hardy wins after escaping through the cage door while Johnny Nitro was crotched on the Steel Cage door. 6/10 Second match- Tag Team Turmoil {Which was announced as a bonus match} A very great Tag Team Turmoil match, probably the best one I saw in quite a while, teams that were included were World's Greatest Tag Team, Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch, The Highlanders, Cryme Tyme & Hacksaw Jim Duggan & Super Crazy. Cryme Tyme win after eliminating Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch as the last team to earn a future World Tag Team Championship title shot. 6/10 Third match- Ric Flair vs. Kenny Dykstra Even though Kenny won, this match still was very good in my opinion, too bad Ric Flair lost by a roll-up by Kenny. 5/10 Fourth match- Victoria vs. Mickie James for the WWE Women's Championship Not really bad but a bit too short to amount anything. Still it's good that Mickie James won after Melina tried to interfere but Maria & Candice Michelle made the save which allowed Mickie James to reverse a Widow's Peak & nail a roll-up on Victoria for the victory. 4/10 Fifth match- DX vs. Rated R-K-O for the World Tag Team Championship in a no disqualification tag team match.

Wow, now this is the best match of the night, I don't think I've ever seen a bloodier & so violent tag team match up like this. Too bad the match ended in a no contest as Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton & Edge were all busted up while HHH seriously injured his knee after attempting a spine-buster went wrong. 7/10 Sixth match- Carlito w/ Torrie Wilson vs. Chris Masters Even though I didn't watch Backlash 2006, I reckon their match at Backlash was way better than this, this match was just a bit slow & these two men weren't really putting that much of a fight. 3/10 Seventh match- John Cena vs. Umaga w/ Armando Eljandro Estrada for the WWE Championship.

Finally Umaga has met his match against the best wrestler alive today which is WWE Champion John Cena. A great battle by these two men even though it might of been sloppy at times. After failing to attempt at least 3 F-U's, John Cena reverses a Samoan Bulldozer & gets a roll-up on Umaga to retain his WWE Championship & end Umaga's undefeated streak. 5/10 So far this was not a really bad pay-per view but the last two New Years Revolution pay per views might of been a bit better than this one. But this was still a very good pay per view to say the least.

Great Way to Begin the WWE new year5
The 3rd Anual New years Revolotion was brilliant.
Cage match for the intercontental championship between Jeff Hardy and Jonny Nitro was great.
Triple H & Shawn Michales vs Randy Orton & Edge was one of the best tag team mathes i have ever seen even though Triple h got injuryed the end of the match was the best bit of the night.
Last but not least John cena vs Umaga for the WWE champiosnhip was a realy good match.
The other matches were
Women's Championship
Mickie James vs. Victoria

Ric Flair vs. Kenny Dykstra

Carlito vs. Chris Masters

and on the extras of this dvd it has John cena vs kevin Federline
and all so the infamous Roise o donnel vs Donald Trump Match
5/5 DVD
