Naturally, no one makes better parts and supplies for Canon products than Canon. Using genuine Canon parts and supplies is your best insurance against equipment damage, and possibly voiding your equipment warranty.

Don't Buy This Cartridge As Its A Starter Cartridge Canon PG-37
When Canon sell you a new printer they only give you starter cartridges with it which hold a very small amount of ink in them PG-37 black and the CL-38 colour cartridges. I was using about 3 black and 2 colours cartridge per month and it was costing me a small forturne. I later found out that Canon do a higher yield versions of the PG-37 & CL-38 cartridges which cost only a few pounds more but hold more ink in them than the starter cartridges which I was using before. What you need is a Canon PG-40 on the black which hold 16mls of ink rather than the 5mls of ink that is in the PG-37 starter cartridge and on the colour what you should be using is a Canon CL-41 which holds 12mls rather than the 5mls which is in the CL-38 colour starter cartridge. I can even go one better, I now use a company called advantage online who stock the Canon originals plus british premium compatible PG-40 and CL-41 cartridges which hold 24mls black and 24mls colour. I have used them acouple of times so far and have been quite inpressed. I hope you don't fall into the Canon trap of selling a very good printer (ip1600) at a very cheap price and then trying to charge you load of money for starter cartridges which are nearly empty.
Very Good
I am very happy with Canon Cartridges as they are cheap, I spend between £8 (black) and £12(colour) on a cartdrige which is an improvement from what I used to pay for other brands(£25), now it's not a fatality when the ink runs out... The quality is as good as any other cartridge, no complaint there either:-) I am a happy customer, I put 4 stars instead of 5 as I just wish there was more ink in the container but we can't have it all ha!!
Don't buy these - they're starter cartridges and expensive!
A thousand thanks to the reviewer below (Mrs D Guest) for pointing out that these are small starter cartridges, and that for not a lot more money I could buy Canon's PG40 and CL41 (for my Pixma ip2600).
I have saved a lot of money on the back of this review - so read it! It's well known that printer companies sell the printers cheap and rook you for ink, so don't let them get away with it!
