Looks arn't everything.....
Hi,
I have or rather, had this machine. I did manage to set it up, eventually, but it's not very intuitive, I suspect that it's a 3rd party that has written the software for Samsung, that can be the only explanation as to the way that it works (or doesn't really). I bought this machine really as it was one of those that I found that had an HDMI output.
I have sent the machine back to Amazon for refund as it refused to release one of a set of DVD's from it's DVD drive. It just sat there with "LOADING" on its front display. I found no way of convincing it to release my DVD. I did get it to change from "LOADING" to "EJECT", but that had the same result, no DVD released.
I am not very happy at all as you may well understand, I may well be very unlucky. But now I will have to get a replacement Set of DVD's to replace one.
Great price, poor unit
The unit is stylish and has a good quality LED display, the fan in the back is hardly audible. However, everything you try to do is slow. The digital TV guide takes ages to refresh and scroll down the channels, even updating the Info on the current channel takes its time. Picture quality is excellent on LCD televisions, but it only deserves 1 star because of the speed. We live in a world where technology moves so fast- except this machine! Excellent features if you can be bothered to wait for them.
If only it did what it says on he box!
Sadly I must confirm the two first reviews, and can only offer "Mike30" my congratulations on finding one of these products that works properly.
Mine wouldn't record from the timer. At first I thought it was me, but after about four weeks of useage I felt I was sufficiently familiar with the unit to conclude that the problem was with the product, not me! Samsung asked me to deliver it to the local appointed service agent, which I did. I was told by staff there that this is a common problem and that many units suffer the same fault. Repairs require a replacement part which needs ordering from Japan, and will take about a week to arrive... Oh dear, If only I'd read these reviews first!
