Synopsis
Jacob Petersen is a man who has dedicated his life to helping the children of India’s streets. When the orphanage he runs is faced with closure, he receives an unusual proposal. Offered $4 million dollars by a Danish businessman called Jorgen, though there are two conditions. The first requires Jacob to return to Denmark; the second, he must take part in the wedding of Jorgen’s daughter. The wedding serves as a critical juncture between past and present, forcing Jacob into the most intense situation of his life. Nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2007 Academy Awrds.
Customer Reviews
excellent
I really couldn't do this film justice with a quick review so take my advice (and of all the other positive reviews) and go buy this dvd. Mads Mikkelsen is amazing as usual and it makes you wonder why he was given such a poor role in the last bond film. Without a doubt one of the best films to be made in the last few years. Ok, it's a vague review but the film is just so good!
Impeccable, unforgettable, perfection
I could go on but I don't think there are enough positive adjectives to describe the excellence of this film, the story, the characterisation, and most importantly of all, the acting. Mads Mikkelsen is excellent, as you would expect, but all four leading performances are genuinely incredible - I never cry at films, but this one genuinely moved me to tears.
And the camera work ... I could go on, but probably best to just say watch it.
just watch it
i could write a big long speil (so won't) this film is amazing on so many levels - just watch it
