Dante's back to stick it to Satan4
This is truly my kind of game: An action heavy fantasy adventure thats all about chopping up massive demons with a gigantic sword. It's a thick necked, big-fisted action game thats all about kicking ass and lookin good.
First off, anyone who was afraid that series regular Dante was given the sack for this instalment need not worry, he's playable for almost half the game and even kills demons with a magic suitcase that transforms into a laser cannon. Thats Devil May Cry for you.
However, DMC4 is new guy Nero's story. Luckily Nero is awsome. He swings around a sword that can rev like a motorbike (for fiery attacks) and has a magic demon hand which can be used for powerful slam dunk moves. Nero is a worthy succesor to Dante (not to mention they look the same).
Without a doubt this is one of the best looking games on Xbox 360 to date and the graphical power is really utilized in varied enviroments like gothic castles, jungles and icy mountains.
The only complaint is that Dante's half of the game is basicly backtracking to the begining of the game where Nero began, and involves fighting the same bosses again.
It doesn't matter much. Coupled with a silky smooth fighting system and incredible action rammed cut scenes, Devil May Cry 4 has secured itself as possibly the best hack n' slash adventure to date and will probably remain so until God Of War 3 comes around.

JUNK!!!!!!1
this is the worst most overated game I have ever played. Its so cheesy going around with a rubbishy little pistol and sword thats twice as big as the guy killing pathetic monsters that give you no challange whatsoever. It is not my idea of fun. stick to shooting and racing games there so much better!!!!!!!!

Totally brilliant body chopping.5
Come on, admit it. 'Devil May Cry' won't tax the grey matter too much, but it will make you feel like a giggling little schoolboy. The cheesy voice-acting, mind numbingly stupid plots and embarrassing outfits. But you don't play 'devil may cry' for character development do you? All that matters is laying the smackdown.

Apparently, it's possible to discover combos that even the game developers didn't know existed. There's no sweeter feeling in all of computer gaming, than when you clear an area of baddies in a blistering display of sword and pistol. Cutting an opponent to pieces, before launching another sky-high and slamming him back down to Earth, all the while charging your devil-trigger to cause untold carnage on the remaining foes. Christ, he's a bit hard this Nero bloke. As an entire room full of enemies bite to dust simultaneously, you'll have little or no idea what you've just done. And that's what makes the game such fun to play.

So for gamers who like some depth with their action, maybe you should look elsewhere. But for those who like going krakatoa on hundreds of enemies, with little or no regard for anything, then sign up. If nits need to be picked, it's probably the difficulty. Human mode is quite easy, whilst devil mode is very hard. Somewhere in-between would have been perfect. Also, for all it's insanely good fighting, it really is a case of go from point A, to point B and kill the baddies on the way. A little variation would have been welcome.

But these reasons are nowhere near enough to put you off buying. Capcom have ensured that 'Devil May Cry' remains one of gaming's strongest series'. And in the battle for the top beat-em-up spot, Team Ninja will have to pull off something very special to beat this.

So 'Ninja Gaiden', it's your move.
