Manufacturer's Descritpion
Changing the way you experience television
BRAVIA is synonymous with outstanding quality of colour and clarity of detail: a picture so good it enhances the viewing experience, no matter what you like to watch.

The BRAVIA range of LCD, SXRD and Home Cinema Projectors feature unique Sony picture enhancement technologies giving you high contrast, incredible detail, smooth reproduction of fast-moving images and exceptional colour gradation for a true High Definition experience.

High performance LCD panel Advanced Contrast Enhancer
Our unique Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) technology helps boost contrast ratio for incredible depth, richness and picture detail, with blacks that are truly black.
Super-fast response time
Eight millisecond response time means fast-moving images such as sports or action sequences remain pin sharp, without any motion blur. Ultra-wide viewing angle
178° viewing angle means you can experience BRAVIA LCD from almost any angle and there is no reduction in the colour, contrast and brightness of the image.
Ergonomic non-reflective frame
BRAVIA LCD televisions have a non-reflective frame to counteract the reflection that puts a strain on your eyes, especially if you are watching in artificial light.

10-bit panel for supremely smooth colour gradation
The new D 32" - 46" BRAVIA televisions feature state-of-the-art 10-bit Sony LCD panel technology that surpasses the achievements of conventional 8-bit panels to set a new standard for smooth and natural colour gradation. Sony LCD panels already deliver enhanced 8000:1 contrast and a 178° viewing angle. When combined with the Sony-unique Wide Colour Gamut backlight (WCG-CCFL), our new 10-bit panel now reproduces remarkable gradation across a 30% wider colour spectrum.
This gives your picture a beautifully natural quality, with incredibly smooth transitions between dark and light shades of colour.

Motionflow +100Hz technology for our smoothest ever fast-moving sports pictures
To enhance the excitement of watching sports on your BRAVIA, the new D 32" - 46" Series features amazing Sony-unique Motionflow +100Hz technology. Motionflow +100Hz actually creates artificial pictures which it inserts into fast-moving sequences to effectively double the number of pictures, or frames, that make up the sequence.
This enables the D Series BRAVIA to display even the fastest sports scene with total precision and smoothness. Some alternative technologies also insert frames, but the results are inferior to Motionflow +100Hz.

Three HDMI ports for the new High Definition world
HDMI™ connectivity will transform your BRAVIA, placing your television at the heart of the new, superior High Definition home entertainment experience. HDMI enables you to connect any High Definition device to your television with just one high-capacity cable, and with no loss of HD audio or video quality.
Practical side port for portable HD devices
The HDMI port on the side of some BRAVIA models lets you quickly connect and disconnect portable HD devices, without moving the television to access the ports on the back.
Two rear HDMI ports for permanently connected devices
The back of your BRAVIA provides enough ports for connecting next-generation High Definition equipment like a Sony Blu-ray Disc™ player and your hi fi system.

S-Force Front Surround
For a unique surround experience without additional speakers.
The new BRAVIA D 32" - 46" televisions feature a high-end virtual surroundsound technology that goes a step further than Virtual Dolby® Surround andTruSurround XT®.
S-Force Front Surround has broken new ground in the field of sound virtualisation to deliver a genuine surround sound effect using just the two internal speakers in your television.
S-Force Front Surround is available exclusively in BRAVIA televisions and other high-end Sony audio and home video products.

    Wow!5
What can I say? This is a fantastic TV! One thing that is worth mentioning is that despite what it says in the publicity blurb, it is capable of displaying 1080p. I saw a friend's TV that was connected to a Blu-ray player and much to our surprise the screen defaults to 1080p. The picture is awesome!

    Superb Sony television of course5
Let me start by saying that i spent a VERY LONG TIME researching various HD televisions before i purchased the 32" D3000. Seriously, i actually started to become obsessed! It came down to either this model or the 40" W3000. The reason i picked this model was because some of the features on the W3000 were pretty pointless... namely the x.v. colour feature. This is because the only hardware that currently supports this are the next-generation camcorders. Granted, the W3000 has 1080P, has a contrast ratio of 1:16,000 and it is 40", but does that really justify it being £400 more? I didn't think so, so i chose the 32" D3000. And let me tell you, i haven't regretted it for a second.

First of all... standard definition. Most people know that LCD's generally can't handle a standard definition signal as well as an older CRT television. However, this tv handles it commendably well. There are some instances when i am watching the freeview that i think the picture quality is BETTER than on a CRT. Once you tweek the settings (i will include what settings i am using at the end, as they seem to work very well) the picture quality is brilliant. I think that most people will agree that the "out of the box" settings really aren't that great.

Now... high definition material. This is where the television really blows your mind. I have played a few dvd's through my Phillip's DVD player, which upscales the quality to 1080i and all i can say is WOW! The colours and textures are amazing. It feels like you are in a whole new world. Just make sure that you keep the [Motion Enhancer] on standard and all the fast moving action scenes will be blur and smear free. I know that a few people will groan when told that this tv is not 1080p, however i would be very surprised to see that much of a difference between 1080i and 1080p. What you need to remember is that a 1080p tv, will show standard definition poorer than on an 1080i set. This is because all broadcasts are at most 1080i (only SkyHD is 1080i) and therefore there is simply no HD signal for 1080p tv's to receive (at least until 2012).

I have not tried playing Blu-Ray DVD's through the Playstation 3 yet, but i will be at the end of May when i get one. I must stress one thing, just to clarify something. This tv WILL accept an 1080p signal, however it won't display it an 1080p resolution. The tv will downscale the signal to display it at 1080i. However, with the 10-bit panel that the tv possesses, i'm sure that it will display it just fine.

The television has some really great features. Two of them being [Live Colour Creation] and [S-Force Surround Sound]. The former has the ability to make the colours appear more vibrant and vivid. The later is Sony's trademark surround sound technology. And when you turn this feature on believe me... you can tell the difference! Turn this up with your favourite DVD playing in high definition and you are on to a winner.

Overall, there are many settings that you can adjust on this tv, and to be honest, it is really personal preference what you prefer. That's what i like about this television... it puts the viewer firmly back in the driving seat!

If i am being honest... yes for a 32" LCD high definition ready tv, this is quite expensive. I paid £609 for it, however i was happy to do so. That was because i knew i was getting a world class tv. What you also need to remember is that this is the only range of tv's in the Sony Bravia series (apart from the X series, which sells for £1,500 plus) that feature the Motionflow +100Hz facility. Believe me, this makes a difference, especially when you are watching sports and other fast moving scenes. Trust me when i tell you that this tv is truely amazing and that for the price it really is something quite special... so buy it, because you really will not regret it!

An absolutely superb piece of equipment5
I researched and procrastinated for a very long time before deciding on an LCD TV. I've got a small lounge so was reluctant to buy something so large that it would look out of place in the room. And yet I wanted something HD ready and you can't appreciate HD on small displays. So after going round a showroom viewing a number of TVs, all paths led to this model and the 32S3000. When auditioned side by side, this model blows the other out of the water. Set-up is very simple - ideal for the technically inept and yet the menus allow you to access and fine-tune a wide range of parameters - ideal for the technically skilled.

What does it look like? Well if you're used to CRT's then of course you'll be disappointed - everyone knows the switch from CRT to LCD is a bit of a step down. However the video processing engine inside this model is exemplary and does a great job of putting out a good picture. The often overlooked issue of audio is worth pointing out. It's a Sony. They do audio very well and have done so for decades.

All in, a worthwhile purchase. It's a real case of getting what you pay for and stumping up the extra cost of this model really yields great results. Good stuff.
