Customer Reviews
Good drive (and nothing else)
The drive I recived was a Maxtor (you may not get the same) and works well (although the real test will be if it still works in 3 years time). Installing the drive was problem free and took 5 minutes.
All I got in the box was a drive. No instructions. No screws to mount the drive. No SATA cable. No power adapter.
If you're happy with this, the drive is a bargin. If you don't have a box of PC bits or don't know how to install a drive, this is not for you.
A drive - and that's it.
The drive I received was a Seagate (you may receive a Maxtor, Hitachi, Seagate, etc.) and is very fast.
Installing the drive took about 5 minutes. The box is well packed with the drive in a static sensitive bag. There are no instructions, no mounting screws, no SATA data cable and no SATA power adapter.
If you're happy with this knowledge, the drive is a real bargain.
If you don't happen to have a box of PC bits or you don't know how to install a drive, this is probably not for you. If you Google for drive installation instructions, you might find some help - I'd recommend doing this first.
Bargain
I was lucky enough to receive a Deskstar (Hitachi) which I believe is the best drive you can hope to get. Perhaps it helped that I also ordered a CPU and DVD-RW from them at the same time so they thought they'd be generous - who knows!
Anyway, if you get a drive from the lower end, I believe you are still getting your moneys worth, so you might as well try your luck I think!
