DVD Description
Thinking about buying a new DVD? Yeah, looks like it an' all! Well then, welcome to the Modern Toss – Series One DVD--all six episodes of this hilarious and much-acclaimed TV series stuck together in one box for the first time. It's rammed to the gills with badly-adjusted animated idiots, roaming at their own will--fearless, free and arguing over nothing in particular. A stylish blend of crudely drawn animations, live action and bizarre music, the world of "Modern Toss" features a cast of surreally foul-mouthed cartoon fools. Packed with special extras, the Modern Toss – Series 1 DVD features a meadow of swear signs; a film of people saying "hello"; a specially commissioned video diary from Alan; plus the voice talents of Mackenzie Crook, Paul Kaye and Doon Mackickan. Alright!
Synopsis
Rude, offensive and downright weird, "Modern Toss" is an animated series that flies in the face of conventional wisdom. It's a world where alphabets are illegal, astronauts abuse ducks, and the sight of Alan Titchmarsh is enough to turn a man into a giant red monster. Don't expect it to make much sense, just sit back and let it wash over you like a tidal wave of guacamole. The Modern Toss - Series 1 release contains every episode from the show's debut series.
Arena
...an entirely new comedic universe...as fresh, strange and compelling as the first time you saw Python or The Office...
Customer Reviews
Police brutality, neighbours from hell, anarchy, road rage, consumer society and, er, sneezing!
Modern Toss. The stench of excellence in a world gone t*ts up.
Beneath the veneer of childlike scribbly animation lies an anarchistic riot of social commentary, often voiced over with deadpan received pronunciation for added comedy effect.
Buy the dvd and enjoy the mayhem before everyone comes in on the joke and starts quoting the catchphrases. Catch you later, yeah? Alright!
It really really lives up to its name.
The first episode is truly enjoyable.
I mean i did enjoy every sketch.
The second episode I quickly realized "hang on, this is identical to the previous episode"
My enjoyment was not as great.
The third episode i realized some of the animation was identical, same as the jokes.
Thus my enjoyment dissipated.
I really do like modern toss but you cant watch back to back.

Repetitive and cut and fade.
bahhh humbug
this isn't as good as the previous review would have you beleive. Despite the geniuses involved in it's production, this one is best forgotten about. A couple of jokes are reasonably funny, but there is nothing clever or anarchic about it. It's sub par underachieving material from folk who usually excel at what they do. I am disappointed.
