this is stuiped1
This is just stuiped i mean i havent got an xbox360 but ive read the reviews and i got a ps3.the ps3 has got brillant graphics, blue ray dvd 60gb memory and has some good games and it dosent brake down.Iknow that the ps3 is pricey but by the time you have spent all that money on the xbox360 and all its accsesories to make it work for about 6 months it equels the price of a ps3, also the ps3 has got free internet.

XBOX 360 ELITE..NOT ELITE!2
I purchased the Elite version of the xbox when it came out around last September. A year later the machine showed the dreaded red ring of death for no apparent reason. Now I am an occasional gamer, and my low achievement points will testify to this. Having bought the machine I would say that the hdmi on my samsung 32 is brilliant, clear and sharp picking up alot of detail against the older machine. Play Tiger Woods 09 and you will see what I mean. Even games like Rainbow Six 2 were smooth and flawless.

However, my concern is that the machines are simply neither durable nor safe in my opinion. I can not understand how Microsoft are getting away with the sheer number of returns and repairs they are doing, and the growing number of irrated cutomers/gamers. How can this be sustainable?

The noise issue is still there, the machine seams to heat up quickly, and games like Ghost recon 2 end up freezing on it for no reason.

So, my verdict is to wait for the new machines, if indeed they are new, or steer towards the playstation 3. In terms of the latter though bear in mind the controls on games like Metal Gear Solid are numerous and confusing, having gotten use to the larger xbox pad and layout. Of course other benefits include the blue ray disc, and free online gaming.

Good luck and happy gaming!

Not one problem!!5
As the title would suggest my review is here to give hope to all those put off potential Xbox 360 owners. I have had my elite for well over a year now and not one problem has occurred. Never crashed, never frozen, no RROD, just played games as I would have expected. I don't know anyone who has had any problems. The very fact that Xbox are taking the faulty consoles back and replacing them should give peace of mind. I have heard that the elite are a much more reliable console than the previous models and so I think this one is a safe bet.

Don't be worried by all the horror stories of breaking consoles. The Xbox has such a better range of games and extras. The only bad thing is that it is a little noisy, but hey what does that matter. Great console!
