Manufacturer's Description:
March, 2047. A massive nuclear fireball explodes high in the night sky, marking the dramatic beginning to the Third Tiberium War and long-awaited return of the most groundbreaking Real-time Strategy franchise (RTS) of all time.
The critically-acclaimed Command & Conquer (C&C) series returns with Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars (C&C 3). Setting the standard for the future of RTS gaming once more, C&C 3 takes you back to where it all beganthe Tiberium Universe.
In 2047, Tiberium has blanketed the Earth, which is now divided into zones based on the level of Tiberium infestation. Pristine Blue Zones represent 20% of the planet's surface and are the last refuge of the civilized world. Partially habitable Yellow Zones make up 50% of the planet's surface; most of the world's population lives in these war-torn and ecologically ravaged areas. The remaining 30% of the planet is uninhabitable, a Tiberium wasteland swept by violent Ion Storms. Red Zones are like the surface of an Alien planet.
The infamous Kane has returned to lead the Brotherhood of Nod in a massive global assault on the Global Defense Initiative and the few remaining Blue zones left on the planet. Only you can stop him. The fate of humanity - and the planet - is in your hands.
Featuring state-of-the-art, next-generation graphics, an epic story with live action video sequences featuring top Hollywood actors, and the classic fast-paced C&C style of play, C&C 3 sets the standard for the single player RTS experience.
When you decide to test your skills online, a suite of truly innovative features, such as the ability to transform online battles into a spectator sport, unfold.
Welcome back, Commander.

c&c gets better and better
this game is the first RTS i've ever played on a console - as i must say i am impressed - the graphics are great, the cut scenes excellent, the sounds and the interface all well done. I have played this game on the PC version but my PC does not have to power to run it effectively and all the animation and graphics are slow and blocky. I was wary as many people have said that the controller does not work well with it, but i must say it does - with a few issues about senistivity which can be sorted with a bit of playing in the menus. My only gripe with it would be the fact that due to playing it on a telly you can't quite see the icons or writing on the screen and if you do then they cover most of the screen. Howver all in all a very good game - also the expansion pack coming soon will make it better.
A Response to Lks Canty
For God sake, the walls make it easier. A challenge is good once in a while you woosie. Play the bloody game like the makers wanted, and stop wasting peoples time
so close...yet so far
This game has great graphics, cut scenes and plenty of variation of gameplay such as skirmish and online battles. The early versions of C&C were great and they were great for a reason...which seems to have been forgotten in this version. The AI is brutal in this version and it develops at such a pace that its a struggle to build enough units to withstand the onslaught upon your base ! There is hardly any tactic play in this version and you cant build walls to protect your troops and vehicles. why has this been omitted ?
I must be honest in that I have enjoyed playing it despite its flaws and I look forward to the next version with these issues ironed out !
