Customer Reviews
DIRE!!!!
I've bought this CD series every June since 1999 when it was called "Clubber Guide To Ibiza" and every year its got worse. Its got to the stage now where there is not 1 good tune on the entire CD's, and when you do get a tune you recognise you discover they have picked the worse possible mix of that particular song.
In typical ministry of sound fassion you only get about 3 mins of each song which is a blessing but as one song finishes and the next tune comes you discover it was worse than the previous track. MOS seemed to be going of there typical cheesey line up to this electro/housey type stuff.
I can honestly say i've never came across a worse CD, "Clubber Guide To Summer"? Well all I can say to that is roll on winter :-) If I had to sume the CD up in 1 word it would be DIRE!!!
oops, i did it again
As i've written for "mos clubber guide summer 2006" also clubber guide 2007 is very weak an poor compared to the GREAT "clubber guide summer" released before 2005
MOS Clubbers Guide Summer 07
There's no doubt this is a commercial comp, so for you underground heads out there, don't bother knocking this album, just look elsewhere (Ministry's Sessions series for one!)
Now, i don't buy many Ministry comps these days other then the already mentioned sessions series, but i always make time for the clubbers guide series. Yes, it is commercial, but i find this series always gives you an idea of what tracks are going to blow up across clubland. And in that respect, this album is a corker. Many great tracks that are either already big or will be in coming months. Particular highlights include:
Destination Calabria (Laidback Luke Remix),
Roachford & M.Y.N.C. Project - Ride The Storm (Life Goes On Club Mix),
TV Rock vs. Dukes Of Windsor - The Others (Club Mix),
Funkerman & Fedde Le Grand Presents 'F To The F' - Wheels In Motion
and the excellent Robyn With Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat (Tong & Spoon Wonderland Remix).
Scoff all you want at Ministry (or me!), if you don't mind a more commercial dance sound, this is a great snapshot of the scene at the mo.
