No frills and does the job as stated
The cable I received is not as the library photo on Amazon. The cable connectors are entirely formed in black plastic with no obvious built in strain relief. The cable body is spindly at roughly 2mm in diameter and the whole thing looks cheap and fragile. It's not fragile but it is cheap and is strictly a "no frills" cable, which just does the job. If the cable is hidden then this would be a perfect choice.

As I expect, there is no degradation in audio quality to the signal but I would expect nothing less with an optical digital signal anyway. I suspect the light guide in this cable is made of Nylon or some other clear plastic, so it should be fairly robust even though it does look so flimsy. (If there is anyone reading this that thinks they need to be using multimode glass fibre for a SPDIF cable of 1 metre in length, then they need to get a sharp dose of reality/practicality.)

The connectors are the standard universal type and will fit any standard TOSLINK connector so it is not limited in scope to the Playstation 3. I have used it as a connection between my cable box and a surround sound unit with great effect.

When I bought this cable it was ultra cheap so be wary of other costs if you also find it unnaturally cheap.
