Customer Reviews
Witty and well observed.
This is Alan Carr's first stand up DVD and it is a riot. It's mostly observational and anecdotal, but his stories are original, witty and well delivered.
It is generally suitable for everyone, it has a bit of an edge, a few rude bits but is pretty inoffensive.
It's easy to watch and Alan comes across as really likeable. It's consistently laugh out loud funny and his characters are identifiable and realistic.
If you like Alan on the Friday Night Project you will love it. I would definitely recommend it and unless you are likely to find his shiny campness annoying, I'm sure your belly will hurt from laughing!!
Not my Words... Alan's mostly.
I received this DVD off my grandmother for christmas. I am a massive fan of Alan Carr and Justin Lee Collins' "The Friday Night Project" and so bought this, almost expecting more of a great thing.. and I got it. It is still the Alan that we love from TFNP and was extremely funny.
The DVD is probably the best stand-up comedy DVD that I have in my collection.
I found myself laughing constantly. I watched it over and over and still found it hilarious. The jokes are spot on and Alan's "Life-Observations" are so close to the "Real World" and "Real People" that you will think that he has been stalking you on your weekly shop! Haha!
There were jokes that literally made me cry with laughter, and not just to wet my eyes there was enough to soak my T-Shirt.
I was in STITCHES.
If you are a fan of him, the Friday Night Project or his other work this is well worth a watch.. very funny. Well done Alan! You've done it again..
Dinosaur comedy in a pink frock
Is it possible to give zero? Less than zero? Utterly diabolical routine from beginning to end. Carr's humour is dreadfully outdated and of the quality you'd find in any bitchy coterie in a provincial gay pub. Do yourself a big favour and avoid this at all costs. Unless you'd still find Larry Grayson funny, that is. Rent or buy some real comedy - Dylan Moran, Eddie Izzard, Lee Mack, and, of course, the other Carr, Jimmy. And no, I am not a homophobe. If anything, Carr is an effrontery to the gay movement. What next? A twenty-first century Black and White Minstrel Show? The world has moved on. Carr apparently hasn't!
