Manufacturer's Description
Skate is the closest thing to skateboarding without actually putting your feet on a board. With innovative controls that take advantage of the dual analog sticks, the power of the next-gen hardware, and the ability to sculpt tricks that define your own style, Skate delivers an authentic boarding mecca like no other videogame.
Individual styles combined with physics-driven animations promise that no two tricks will ever be the same. And thereâs plenty of room to pull off those tricks - San Vanelona challenges you to explore, find, and own the best spots. You can even capture footage to create and show off your style with friends across the worldâ"because without footage, it's fiction.
Get ready for all the fun, creativity and culture of skateboarding without the hours of practice, broken bones, and hospital visits.

Wonderful Game!
I for one, am not into skateboarding, nor have I ever found myself playing any skateboarding games. However, one lazy evening, I decided to download the demo for this game. I was shocked at how much I got into it.
Having such fun playing this demo, I decided to go out a buy it from my local store. How glad I am that I did that. It has given me endless amounts of gameplay, whether it be from the cleverly crafted career mode, or to just roam around on Free-Skate or even (for me personally) lose miserably when playing online.
To perform tricks, there is a system called "Flick-it". It's great. Who'd have thought that you could create so many tricks and combos from one little stick.
The graphics are generally good, apart from the odd graphical glitch or two.
Soundtrack is perfect as it pretty much caters for anyone with it's variation in genres.
Unfortunately I cannot compare this game to the Tony Hawk games as I haven't really taken the time to play it them, however, I can tell you how wonderful this game is to play.
I highly recommend it to skating fans and non-skating fans alike.
Must have for XBOX360 and PS3 owners
This is one of the best games on the PS3. The realism and challenges are the best i've ever scene. It opens up this sport to people who are into and are not into skateboarding alike. The freedom of movement, no rules, refrees, pressure. The ability to define what, where and when you do it realy does catch the spirit of skateboarding...
EA Skate has redefined this genre. I tried the Tony Hawk games after i completed this, and they were awful in comparison. EA conrol mechanism is the key to realsim, and hopefully they will release more titles like a BMX version or extenstions to Skate. They will sell by the bucket load.
The game has huge lastability to. I completed the game within 2-3 months, but once you get that good you can play against other friends in online mode. I practically play most evenings. It was in fact the the only reason i brought the PS3.
The only game i think that's got the same feel as this (but with guns instead of skateboards) is GTA IV. Rockstar had 2 attempts at that before it really broke the mode. Electronic Arts did it in one hit!!! I don't say that lightly but EA Skate really is the BEST game of the last 9 months or so.
Buy it now. You'll be kicking yourself u didn't get it sooner.
Best game on 360!
I've always loved the Tony Hawk games, and i've been an on-off skater for about 8 years now. I always felt the Tony Hawks games were fun, but not quite all there. Skate is so much fun, you can practice a trick in skate, then go outside and try it yourself! Skate made me take skateboarding up again, and ok... I still suck, but the thought was there!
If you ask me, you cant go wrong with skate, its really good fun online, with some good xbox achievement thingys to keep you going once the single player is completed. You get to make your own character, and mine looks just like me! You also get sponcerd by firms such as FLIP, Enjoi and DC's. Something i've always dreamed of!!
