Bleeding good...
Dino Cazares has always been a man of great musical stature. Fear Factory, a band viewed as gods by many in the metal scene, are possibly his proudest moment to date with a stunning back catalogue written and inspired by this man. He has also had successful releases since then as part of the Roadunner United compilation and part of the band Brujeira.
With Divine Heresy this great list of achievments is added to. This is a fine debut album which emphasises the finer moments of this man's career and puts them all together in one album. Opening title track 'Bleed The Fifth' kicks in and gives you a great impression of what's to come. Brutal guitars, crushing vocals and pounding drums! Words cannot do some of the songs justice on this album as they really have to be heard to be believed.
It would be hard for me to write about a favourite track or a particular stand out as the calibre of this album such that it could all be credited with that title. However my personal favourites are 'This Threat Is Real' and 'Saviour Self' purely for the vocal lines which are something to behold.
I cannot give this record enough praise with my words and I really recommend that if you call yourself a fan of metal, or have been into any of the works I listed above then it is a definate must for you to check this out. I assure you, it'll be worth it!
Bleed The Five Stars
Dino Cazares, founder member of Fear Factory and the creator of the most distinctive riff styles in recent metal history, has spent five years preparing for his big comeback, and judging by the ferocity with which Divine Heresy slam into the title tack of their debut album, his patience has been fully rewarded and it's big. Cazares gleaming new band combines breathless brutality with giant, bellow-along choruses, leading to an end result that is utterly timely but by no means overly familiar. The presence of ex-Hate Eternal drummer Tim Yeung will give this project credibility with the death metal die-hards, even if there may be too many sing along choruses to convince all of them, but most will or should love it. In fact Yeung's drumming is the key to this bands power (even more so than Cazares signature machine gun riffs) as his sheer explosive power and violent blast beats ensure that even on the catchy 'Failed Creation' and closing anti-ballad 'Closure', Divine Heresy sound extreme. Vocalist Tommy Vext has an excellant tone to his clean vocals, and his throat smashing bark exudes bon-fide authority. Best of all, Cazares has summoned his best riffs since 'Demanufacture' and even chucks in some nosebleed-inducing solos. All in all, this hits the bull's-eye and it's going to be fascinating to see what happens next.

Really good
Yeah i've gotta agree with all the other reviews. I am a huge metal fan and have a huge collection. In my opinion i prefer this album to any fear factory album but i think thats because i am a guitarist and Dino writes some slightly more complex stuff and solos. I would say there obviously quite technical about there music. Everything is so precise. The drummer sounds like a machine. There are flipping killer riffs everywhere. The vocals are very much like burton c bells but much more aggressive.
If you like Metal get this. It a wicked addition to the collection.
