Customer Reviews

Great Product5
I spent a while thinking about which PVR to buy and all the positive reviews made me choose the Humax. It is very simple to set up and use. It also now comes with the series link so makes recording even better. The only thing to watch out for is if your replacing an old digibox (3-4ys). They were buit for weak digital signals therefore replacing it with a new product built for stronger signals may mean you have to buy a booster as well particularly, as in my case, no improvement has been made to the local transmittor.

Great picture and features, let down by the noise3
Before purchasing this model I read through a number of reviews and on the whole the ratings were really positive. I'm therefore rather puzzled as to why so few people have commented on the dreadful humming noise that this model makes. Or is it just the one I have? Perhaps other buyers don't focus on such things. Admittedly I have a small lounge and an open TV unit but I have never experienced this "flaw" with other HDD manufacturers. On the plus side the Humax has some great features, is quite easy to operate and for the price the picture quality is excellent. Pity I can't live with the noisy wee beast and alas this will be winging it's way to my elderly parents who can't at the moment watch and record on their existing kit. They have a large lounge and are both going a bit deaf so I'm sure they will be delighted, whilst I rather disappointedly will be reverting back to my old but very quiet Panasonic HDD recorder with alas no twin tuner :-(

What a great product !5
I took delivery of one of these 5 days ago and can't believe how great it is. The remote control is simplicity itself to use; the on-screen menus are simple to understand and easy to follow (so simple that even my wife can finally record things for herself off the telly - which sort of makes me a bit redundant now!) The usb socket allows recordings to be copied over on to our PC. The 2 digital tuners allow you to record two seperate programmes whilst watching a 3rd recorded programme. There is a 'hidden panel' on the remote that uncovers additional buttons to facilitate picture in picture etc and even a G button that provides access to 4 on-screen games.

Having had my hands burnt before by buying a cheap pvr (from another online store) which had too many buttons and too many freeze errors, it's been a joy to use the Humax.

If you haven't got one, buy one now - in fact buy 2, one for you and one for any elderly relatives who struggle with new technology.
