hi, after months of research looking to update my surround sound I found this fine specimen from Sony.but to my utter disgust I could not find one decent review on this product. So I will give my review so people like me will have some idea on what to expect from this system. The sound quality is excellent which you would expect from a Sony system. The extra channel (6.1) improves the cinematic feel and adds a excellent demsion to what I was used to (5.1). Make sure you buy a good quailty optical cable for your DVD player and please oh please update the utter rubbish speaker cables they give you, even if you spend a pound a meter on speaker cable it makes a massive diffrence. Finding films which accomadate 6.1 is difficult but many blue ray films come with it. I watched x men 3 on blue ray using this sytem and although this system does not accomadate Dolby HD the sound was amazing, and the sub shakes the house at the approaite time. For the money its excellent although the styling is abit to be desired for, extras like the auto calibrator is great. I bought myne through pixania and I had NO problems. Hope this was helpful.

Be careful or move to Germany...
I have recently ordered this product from Pixmania. Despite the product being in stock and me paying for 2-3 day delivery, the item took over two weeks to arrive. When the item finally did arrive I unpacked it all (and it does look very good although bigger than I expected) I discovered that there were fitted/moulded plugs on the end of the power cables. This would not normally be a problem but they were German plugs and there are no adaptors provided in the box! Cutting the cable and replacing the plugs is not an option because any problems down the line and you'll get the blame for changing the plugs and invalidate your warranty!

In summary, you'd find it faster to go to Germany to buy this product and still suffer the same inconvenience as you would if you bought it from the company with way below average customer service, Pixmania. Don't buy anything from them. In hind-sight I would not bother but I'm damn determined, after all the time I've had to invest, to get what I want.
