JERICHO
Within the vast TV landfill there lay occasionally, hidden among the flotsam and jetsam, a few diamonds. Jericho is such a jewel that shines so bright amid the usual puerile claptrap that I am astounded that CBS was blind to this dazzling gem and CANCELLED the series. Having just bought the DVD to save for the cold winters nights in the UK, I thought I would just watch the pilot and therein lies the tale... 48 hours later, `Why We Fight'!

A series that makes you think long and hard about `what if' and how would you and those around you behave, I have already started to inventory the people locally and categorised them into `New Bern' or `Jericho people' - scary!

The whole production of this series is excellent, the actors craft is very much alive and well in this series. The story line, which could have plummeted into a huge sugar bowl of how we would all behave like The Waltons in a catastrophic situation, kept true to all of our human complexities and frailties. The best TV drama in many a year, it seems 50% of TV series are about how many ways to murder someone and then put together a team - an older chap with 5 or 6 young guns who will solve every murder through scientific forensics and the other 49% `reality' programming which could not be further from reality AND then you have the 1% JERICHO - I can only assume no-one at CBS actually watched this series or read the reviews here on Amazon before cancelling the show well NUTS to that.

Channel 4 and FX have picked up the series in the UK, both channels seem to be marketing it a lot more vigorously than CBS so perhaps with the UK and US fans knocking at the CBS virtual door there might, just might, be someone at home who will listen and recognise that they have been fortunate to sponsor this wonderful series.

I'll just get this out of the the way... I love LOST, love it! but its got nothing on Jericho! This Series is a wonderful piece of of television.
The story/plot, acting, sets, CGI and sound track are quite simply spot on.
The writing and acting is so good I actually hate the character called "Grey Anderson" not hate as in I want to turn the show TV off far from it! I'm waiting for him to get what's coming too him.
It feels like your there when you watch it. Its very well done.

This is an awesome program and deserves alot more credit than its got.

It's a brilliant idea for a TV show with and brave and bold idea.
It could have been done all wrong and tacky but its executed perfectly.

This will go down in my book as one of the best series ever made.

I cannot believe a show like Lost can undershadow true brilliance such as this. I have watched Lost, and every single episode is thin on storyline and consistency in my opinion. I then happened on this little gem, purchased the boxset from the States. Watched it and loved every single second of it... Watched it from start to finish and didnt think there was a single bad episode. Then what do i find out. CBS channel in the States tried to cancel it. But due to the excellent fans this show has they commisioned a further 7 episodes in the 2nd season.

Please! Give this show a chance, and dont let another injustace such as Firefly or Tru Calling take place!

Take my word for it, if you dont give the show a chance you will be missing out!
