Manufacturer's Description
With the corded G9 mouse, gamers can enjoy interchangeable grips, on-the-fly dpi switching ranging from 200 dpi to 3200 dpi, full-speed USB laser tracking, an onboard-memory profiling system, weight tuning, a custom-color LED and the hyper-fast MicroGear Precision Scroll Wheel, which was introduced last year and is exclusive to Logitech. To help gamers get the best fit, the Logitech G9 mouse features a wealth of customizable features, including two interchangeable grips: Wide-Load grip and Precision grip. Designed to deliver comfort even during the longest gaming sessions, the Wide-Load grip provides a fuller shape and soft-touch, satin feel, while the Precision grip's DryGrip technology and compact shape offer fingertip control and a surer handle for any hand. For an even more comfortable feel, the G9 mouse allows for customized weight tuning and weight distribution. The innovative weight-tuning system enables gamers to choose from among hundreds of weight settings by inserting up to four additional weights in the mouse's weight tray, adding up to a maximum of 28 grams. In total, gamers can choose from eight additional weights.Using the new Logitech SetPoint software, gamers can create a number of profiles for their mouse. And with the mouse's onboard memory, gamers can take their personalized settings anywhere - it's no longer necessary to install SetPoint software on the gaming rig every time a gamer changes computers. Instead, up to five profiles - including specified keyboard macros, dpi settings and LED color settings - can be stored on the mouse for on-the-go gaming.Unlike other gaming mice that offer a range of 400 dpi to 2000 dpi, the G9 mouse can be shifted on the fly to up to 3200 dpi for faster, more precise cursor movements, or down to as low as 200 dpi for games that require pixel-precise control. A full-speed USB connection delivers up to 1,000 reports per second for smooth tracking without cursor lagFinally, the G9 laser mouse features the MicroGear Precision Scroll Wheel. Using a toggle mechanism on the bottom of the mouse, gamers can choose between precise click-to-click scrolling that is perfect for weapon selection, or nearly frictionless hyper-fast scrolling.

So proud of the little mouse!5
Well, where to start? I received it from Amazon the next day after ordering it, plugged it in and was off. It was so fast that I was taken back by it, then pressed all the buttens, downloaded the little accompanying programme, set it up and found that it had different settings for what speed you want it at. Found the weights and made it the right feel. Then, like every true male, glanced over the tiny manuel and found some actually useful tips.

It can have several different profiles on its on board memory chip. I have 1 for gaming, 1 for work and 1 for general stuff. To get the best out of it, I adjusted the weights to make it feel comfortable with whatever activity I'm doing. I liked the fact that it came with two different covers for the mouse for the big hand or for the small hand.

For gaming, it's fantastic, the speed, I put it to almost max, of it is seriously useful for when trying to kill spys in team fortress 2 as they are running round you. It's easy to keep trake of your enemies.

For work, the setting makes it a little quicker to pull up files than a normal mouse and makes it feel slightly easier to work.

Put it on the general setting, you can still set the speed you want and do whatever you have to do.

There's not a lot you can say about mice but this one is definately the best I have had to use. There was one other important fact that I liked about this mouse and that wa the cord. It is slightly heavier than the normal wires on mouses and it means that you don't have to keep pulling the wires back up as it droops over the side of the desk. It seems to stay where you leave it. Also, I tend to tred on the wires of mouses and have broken a many by snapping it as i pull the mouse back to me, have done it a few times with this one and nothing. It still works a dream. I had to get a wireless one before, but now I don't need to change batteries whilst in a game ever again!!!!

Best mouse out there!

Awesome CS5
In January 07 i bought a G7 from here, great mouse but not cheap.
Started having problems with the left mouse button so gave CS a bell.they took me through a few things to try and fix it but no joy.
By this time my one year warranty had expired.
So what did Logitech do?
did they tell me
"hard luck m8 buy a new one"
or
"Sorry we cant do anything etc...etc..."
NO
they sent me this G9 FOC.
This is one excellent mouse & you dont have to change batteries ;-)
but the best thing is the customer service.

Great mouse5
This is easily the best and most comfortable mouse I have ever used. First off, the shape is very ergonomic and despite what a lot of people are saying it didn't take me any time at all to get used to the shape (although that might just be me). The customizable grip is also a very good feature but the two grips have different textures, so even if you prefer a narrower grip you might not like the feel of it. The customizable weight is amazingly effective, and it's really made a difference for my gaming. The mouse is very precise (with 3200dpi [but that's only comparing it to a lower resolution mouse]) and therefore good for gaming. The scroll wheel is also good because it has two different mode: a precise click mode for gaming (and probably normal use) and a "Hyperspeed" mode which scrolls very fast. The dpi changing buttons are good for changing resolution while gaming, and it's better than some mice I've used which only have 1 button for dpi changing. The software for it (I can't remember if it came with the mouse or if I had to download it)is very useful and you can customize the different dpi settings, and even customize the colours of the lights on the mouse. There's hardware profile changing on the mouse which seems good but I can't comment because I only use one profile. You don't need any software to use the mouse, all the settings are stored on the mouse, so great for taking to a lan party.
In all I think this a great mouse I definitely recommend it especially if you're into gaming.
