**** MOJO
Swagger… leaves the listener in little doubt that Siegal is the cleverest writer and most magnetic performer of blues working in the UK.

Rock 'n' Reel
"Swagger - ever so aptly names - may lack the surprise element of its predecessor but is ultimately just as satisfying."

Customer Reviews

SWAGGER>>>YOU BET..THE NAME IAN SEIGAL5
Note the name...IAN SIEGAL ,one of the finest talents to be performing in the UK, If you've heard his last album Meat And Potatoes or seen his truly wonderful DVD Live at the North Sea Festival (now available as a double set)
then you are seriously going to love Swagger,it could be one of the years
biggest growers just like last year we had James Hunter's People Will Talk
this could be this years big one.Ian's voice is stunning with depth and yet that rhythm in it that brings all of his music such as original sound.
I first saw him as a special guest on a Rhythm Kings Tour, just him and his guitar and he held the audience were in the palm of his hand such is his talent. This new album is the next step on and yet retains his amazing ability to read a song even a well known blues and make it sound all his own, just take Groundhog Blues for instance. With his own band plus the quite awesome talent of guitarist Matt Schofield (check out his own new album) who I believe produced this one as well and boy you've got one heck of a great release...order it now make Ian Siegal the superstar he deserves to be....one of the best releases you'll here by anyone anywhere
this year..buy with absolute confidence !

Masterpiece5
Much anticipated and long-awaited Swagger is certainly worth the wait, highlighting the further development of Ian Siegal as a master songwriter and musician.

The vocal range is as strong as ever covering the the various blues styles with ease and finess.

Highlights? The more I play it the more my favourite tracks change but the reworking of John Lee Hooker's Groundhog Blues remains up there as does Catch 22, Horse Dream and the wonderfully invective language of Curses.

Brilliant album which deserves wider recognition than it will probably get but we can but hope that one day ian Siegal's talent will be fully recognised

Well worth investigating.4
I am something of a lapsed bues fan & was more than pleasantly surprised with the quality of Ian Siegal's offering.
The cd doesn't get 5 stars as there is some way to go to achieve full marks but this is probably as good a UK blues cd as you'll listen to this year.
Ian's voice is certainly a stand out feature but the musicianship on the cd overall is satisfyingly high.

I'm pleased I took the time to check it out.
