CD Description
'Even If It Kills Me' is pop punk outfit Motion City Soundtrack's third album. Picking up where sophomore album 'CommitThis To Memory' left off, the band continue to produce their unique brand of melodic indie rock. Produced by US collegerock stalwarts Adam Schlesinger (Fountains Of Wayne), Eli Janney (Girls Against Boys) and Ric Ocasek (The Cars) the album perfectly captures the band's aesthetic and sound. Features the singles 'Broken Heart' and 'This Is For Real'.

Customer Reviews

The record Motion City Soundtrack was meant to make5
Finally - the perfect album from Motion City Soundtrack. Their first two records had some very strong tracks, but also some quite bad ones that cluttered the whole impression of each record. But this - oh my god. Every song is literally drowning in great hooks, infectious melodies and quirky lyrics. This is intelligent pop music that is simply as good as it gets.

A triumphant return5
Motion City Soundtrack have returned with an album noticeably more mature than there previous outings, whilst effortlessly retaining the formula that made them likable and unique in the first place.

The trademarks are still there; upbeat tempo tracks and some of the best written, relatable lyrics you're likely to hear. They have explored some new territories as well with tracks like 'Last Night' and 'The Conversation'. Overall a good mix that will please new and old fans alike.

Some may be disappointed with a slight departure from what we're used to hearing from MCS, but personally I am glad to see them not producing a "Sequel" as it were. They can reproduce more and more 3 minute guitar bursts that we've heard before or they can show what they're made of and give us something new, and I think they've made the right choice. A must buy for any MCS fan.

Not so great.2
This just isn't a good enough effort. The previous two albums are excellent, full of catchy tunes with some decent lyrics. What happened here? I'm desperately trying to like this album, with the exception of 'last night' the whole thing kinda sucks.
