Manufacturer's Description
FlatOut brings its destructive high octane motorised anarchy to the PSP for the first time
Boasting the most four-wheeled mayhem ever seen on PSP, with nine different game modes, including 36 carnage challenges, full career Championship, destruction derbies, multiplayer party mode and the bone-crunching Ragdoll stunt mode.
FlatOut: Head On is ready to drop the hammer on the PSP extreme racing genre, bringing high speed destruction and leaving more broken bones and wrecked cars in its wake, than a Richard Hammond Top Gear stunt.
From rock-smashing dust ups in arid desert landscapes to down and dirty races through rubbish-strewn city streets, FlatOut's PSP debut is yet another gritty excursion into racing carnage.
The FlatOut physics engine delivers levels of extreme racing that have yet to be seen on the PSP; get ready for head on destruction that could literally leave you, the track and your car in pieces.
The more carnage you create, the more points you score, but the more problems you'll face. However using this to your advantage will get you even more bonus points by wrecking other vehicles throughout the races
With multiplayer Wireless and party gaming modes from wheel to wheel challenges, demolition derbies and the Ragdoll stunts, the only reason you'll stop is if you have no wheels left.
Customer Reviews
Best racer on PSP
Originally I had the demo of Flatout Head-On on my psp (you could only play one or two tracks) I found myself playing it more then the games I had purchased, but when I came to buy it, I bought Burnout Legends instead because of the reviews (it got 9.1 on Gamespot and FlatOut only got 7.5) BAD CHOICE. I got bored of burnout within two weeks, and found myself playing the demo of flatout again, so I bought it.
FlatOut Head-on is HUGE fun, the actual feel of the cars is great, as soon as you start playing, you will notice the great physics engine in this game, the cars may seem a little slow at first if your used to the blinding speeds of burnout, but remember, they get faster as the game progresses. The second great thing about this game is the A.I. opponent drivers. There are seven of them, and they each have their own driving style, name and character backgrounds (which are shown in the loading screens). You will soon learn to hate Jack Benton's guts and try to slam him off the track at any opportunity (also Sofia Martinez must die.) I forgot to mention, the aggressive A.I. makes this game DIFFICULT. This game will take you a long time to complete. The other good thing about this game is the cars. You start off with derby class cars which are basically old bangers, then you move on to the race cars, which are fast, but weak, and finally the street cars which are VERY fast when you upgrade them. You can also win special vehicles in carnage mod including a big rig truck and a school bus :D .
The game has it's faults. It is slightly too hard and can get frustrating, the A.I. drivers get nitro for doing nothing, Katie Jackson never wins, but these faults don't matter, because this game is great in long bursts, short bursts, stress relieving, multi player with friends, and its REPLAYABLE, it has great replay value. This has to be the most underrated game on the PSP system, and one to definitely have in your collection.
Not for low tempered
I found this game quite good but with some minor defaults, this game includes stunts which are all quite tricky and some impossible for me, as it took me many trys to get a good score on some of them, the graphics are brilliant for a PSP game and there is lots of things to do on the game, also as and advantage the game comes with great cheats with a excellent to add to the game. I would give this game a 4 star overall as it has good things to do and good graphics
