Product Description

Donkey Kong: Jet Blast invites you to drum the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to zoom Donkey Kong through a series of races and be the first to cross the finish line. You'll collect bananas and power-ups to compete against other characters in the Donkey Kong universe like Diddy, Dixie, and King K. Rool plus four new characters! Use speed, skill, and power-ups to blast your way past your opponents or use dirty tricks like punches and pineapple launchers to push them to the back of the race. Invite three of your friends over to play and have a four-player race! Controlling Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast will get you moving! Race forward by drumming both the Wii Remote and the Nunchuck together at the same time to pound your barrels. To turn right or left, drum just one of the controllers for a quick turn to snatch a power-up or slide in front of someone. Once you get up to full speed all you need to do is steer-until someone tries to bonk you on the head and push you back! Use buttons to launch attacks and if you can string together a series of moves and attacks you get special combos that'll really put you ahead of the pack.

Fast and frantic fun for all the family.....4
I bought this game a few days ago and, so far, so good.....apart from the fact that my 5 year old son is already managing to beat me regularly. The game is fast and very entertaining with a good selection of courses and very open game play - if you build up a lead you tend to be hauled back in fairly often, meaning that each race holds its appeal and stays open right until the end. Whilst skill is needed, a fair bit of luck is also key and whilst this may disappoint some hard core pure gamers, in my book this makes it an ideal family game. The controls are good - you use both the remote and the nunchuck, shaking both to get up to top speed and then shaking the nunchuck to go left, the remote to go right and lifting both to go higher. Overall, it is a great game that should keep the family entertained and can be played off a fairly level playing field by people of all ages. Still early days but I think it will have lasting appeal and, overall, highly recommended if you are looking for a bit of light-hearted, frantic fun and a great option until Mario Kart finally hits the Wii.

A great bit of fun to be had with this one4
I've just finished my first sitting, which lasted a couple of hours and im rather impressed. On the first few races i felt a bit disapointed but soon after that dissapeared. The control system is pretty good. I'd heard roughtly how it worked and was a bit dubious as at how my poor arms were going to take such a battering.

Basically how it work is, by shaking both the controllers alternatively you get speed and by doing either one individualy you can turn. But the good thing is after about 2-3 seconds of shaking you reach top speed and this is sustained until you hit something. You can also jump by flicking both controllers up at once. There are weapons which do various things as you would expect from having played mario kart. One of them seems to be Navi from the zelda games but im not sure also there are the melons from super mario sunshine/galaxy. These things are very minimal but a nice touch never the less. You can also ride on on the swordfish, rhino and minekart as you can in previous donkey kong games.

The game has a training mode which teach's you the very basic. Then there is a grand prix mode which seems to have quite a few courses and cups to play through, each of which is available at 3 different difficulty levels. There is then multiplayer and also a challenge mode which requires a certain task to be performed during race e.g. punch so many people, collect so many bananas and so on...

Overall the game is great fun and i found myself getting stuck in to it very easily. Would be a great game to play with all your mates or family.

racing fun5
had this game a week now and we both love it; as does other family when they come over. Tend to take turns in one player mode but it is multi player; just not keen on split screen but its still very playable just personal preference.

If you liked mario kart and donkey kong in the past you will love this.......buy it you wont be disapointed, its a little wierd at the start but bare with it because it doesnt take long to get into....cant wait for mario kart :)
