EXCELLENT ITEM
I have just bought this item, and am very pleased with it. The dvd player is excellent, the picture quality is excellent, and the tv tuner is great. You can also record off the tv direct to your memory card/stick. The games that come with it are simple, but addictive, the best ones usually are. I cant fault this player yet, with all the functions it has, you would be hard pushed to find anything as good as this for the price.
Appalling !!
First one arrived - faulty - the volume switch didn't work correctly. Took this to Allcam myself - if I had not done so and used the post as they suggested, they would have palmed me off with a repaired (ie., graded) item instead - which they still tried to give me - one of the many which were in pieces around the small office they run from. I insisted on a new player and when I got this home, I found the TV Freeview tuner did not function and the quality of the normal TV image was awful - even when using the main house ariel.
In light of the above and the fact that the build quality is really poor, I returned the second item to Allcam asking for my money back. They told me that I could not have a full refund partly because the connecting wires were not cable-tied together so it was not in its original condition!
I would not touch this item or Allcam ever again.
Thank god for Amazon who ensured I got a full refund.
Great DVD player
Was nervous about buying this because I hadn't heard of the brand or seen many recent reviews so it seemed to good to be true. I am really impressed with it - the DVD has a very good screen and functionality. The DVD lid is a little flimsy. I had expected to sacrifice build quality for all the extras (TV and games) and was actually pleasantly surprised by the overall feel and packaging. It was a Christmas present for my son and certainly had the "wow" factor.
