Nothing New
I agree with other reviewers this is more or less the same as the last Spyro game , why did they change such a good formula ? I have all the other Spyro games and have to say the last 2 are hardly played yet I get a lot of pleasure from the ones from the PS1 and earlier PS2 games. Please go back to finding treasure and the mini games rather than just fighting all the time.
Insomniac - it isn't & I won't be with this!
I am proud to say that I have every Spyro game for both PS & Nintendo. I have had huge amounts of fun with them all, except the last 2 releases. The first few games were made by Insomniac - hence the title of this review - and they were fantastic! This offering is made by Krome. I just wish the Spyro franchise hadn't been sold on from the original company. This version is fight, fight & fight again, and as other reviewers have said - astoundingly difficult. There will be a final game released in this trilogy - I know this as I have looked at the last page of the 'walk through' book. I'm sure it will be exactly the same - more fighting. As others have said, I feel that Spyro has lost the plot and should go back to the original formula - less fighting, more collecting and mini-games please! I'm very disappointed with this offering and I wish that I had believed the other reviewers!
BORING
Being a big Spyro fan I found this game to be another huge disappointment. Its just fighting, fighting, fighting over and over - the only difference is the background and the enemies change slightly from level to level - YAWN. When it comes to bosses there's far more chance than skill to it so why bother doing it over and over ad infinitum? And those ridiculous, restricted bounce back and fore, dodge, fire sections drove me to the point of screaming. What is the point? Spyro used to be really good fun but now its seriously annoying. And that ending? oh dear what a lack of imagination!
