Fun listening4
Ok there isn't a great deal of originality about Farewell but if you're into the punk/rock genre then this is a band you should check out. My favourite song on the album is "Zelda" however there are plenty of other songs to keep you interested.

yh...its alright...4
Okay...first off, this album came up under the things other customers have bought after looing at....cobra starships new album i think...and the album art drew me to it :P

i listened to samples on iTunes, and ultimately paid £7.99 and dled...having listened to about the first 5 tracks bout twice now, it was probably the worst purchase ive made so far on iTunes....its really unimagninative...and ultimately gets boring, unless you are a tone deaf retard. Its really repetitive, and the vocals are a bit draggy and moany and whiney...if you wanna know what hes saying read the lyrics if you ask me...

but ive given it 4*'s cus the album art made me lol and the actual instrumentals and rythms are pretty good, no matter how repetive..

For Fans Of- Motion City Soundtrack (Farewell sounds more like MCS than anyone else) All Time Low

Great CD!5
This an excellent American pop/punk debut for FAREWELL.
Their upbeat, sing along and musically tight sound makes for a great album. Their songs feature synth/keyboard which is a nice breath of fresh air into the pop/punk scene. I couldn't resist buying the album after falling in love with the single 'First One on the Blogs' - a rhythmic masterpiece! "If you mess with me then you will have to answer to my friends!" "You're far too phony to fake it."
They have a great amount of variety in their songs structuraly, and have created some brilliant parts - mostly very small bits and simple but they give it that extra something. - Like the quick breakdown to keys/drums and crowd cheering in the background before the last chorus on 'Eighty Eights', + group (children?) "Hey!" chant before the last chorus on 'Stay Pretty'. "You'll have to take your foot off, the foot off the BRAKE!"
The track 'War' starts off on piano and guitar sounding like a ballad, but they build up the pace and incorporate livley drums and bass without ruining it but keeping its delicacy intact atleast until the chorus which contrasts nicely, it then flows perfectly back in to that upbeat yet gentle piano based verse. "But things fall apart.."
Great song 'Zelda' - I mean c'mon the name is enough. ^^
'Fed To The Fire' is the last track on the album, but don't let this song slip by cos it's at the end. The chorus is what really makes this such a great song for me, I can't really put my finger on it but it just rocks. "I was standing beside her..."

As a drummer - the drums are great and inventive, they bring something less conventional than the standard pop/rock beats and styles - really helps sum up their sound. Fav songs for drums: 'September Brought The Fall', 'Fed To The Fire', Stay Pretty'(The intro makes that track), ' First One on the Blogs'.

Oops nearly forgot 'Sing, Baby'! Initially it has a very carnivaly sound, with a great um-ba um-ba rhythm. It breaks out in to a great chorus 'You're a one in a million baby, but that's just how it goes."

Every track is worthy of being the next single, I couldn't possibly pick a favourite.

Alsooo, the album reaks quality. The producing and mixing is spot on - great job Marc McClusky and Dorisland Studios! Also the level of detail gone into every song + great vocal harmonies and great use of group vocals.

The bands unique fun style is characterised by Marshall Davis's (Vocals) cute and fun art - the front cover of the cd.

'Isn't this supposed to be fun?' Is a rather ironic title for the album as it is nothing but pure fun! THIS WILL PUT A SMILE ON YOU FACE!

FAREWELL are going to be big - this a brilliant album and as their debut it is astounding they got it so right the first time round.

We won't be waving farewell to North Carolina's best export anytime soon.
