Shin Splints Anyone??
I had this lurking in the back of my collection, and thought I drag it out again, for a change (from Karen Voight, Billy Blanks etc), well within 20 mins I remember why it had migrated to the back to the collection. I was so bored with running on the spot, and dreadful cueing, that I actually fished an old Kari Anderson one out, for some life and enthusiasm, and to save my shins. Nell, I am sure is a lovely girl, and I've obviously missed something here. And what's more I am sorry to give such an awlful review, but if you like a challenge go for Zawacki or Voight and let their personality and cueing shine.
Very disappointing
I've had Nell's Ultimate Workout challenge for about 18 months now and was a bit bored so I was really pleased when I saw there was new dvd out. I liked the ultimate challenge because it really worked you but was easy to follow and the bail out options were good if you were short of time or just tired. This new dvd is the same workout just without the bail out and a very condensed core section. The cardio section is basically 40 minutes of running on the spot waving your arms about and is brutal on the knees, shins and calves. I was bored stiff after doing it for about the 4th time and it isn't helped by the fact that the music is dreadful! Some decent music might provide some incentive to keep going. I can't help but think that this dvd was a cynical move on Nell's part to make some money and show off her post baby body.
I'm going to go back to the ultimate challenge - once my knees and shins have recovered enough.
Fabulous and great music
I work out 3/4 times a week usually to Nell or Ministry of Sound and do 1 or 2 10k runs so I expect a good workout. Not many DVD's impress me. Most of those I have bought remain in their cases having been used just once or twice. This is my favourite Nell DVd in terms of music although it is less challenging than her first and third DVD. I have used it consistently for 6 months without getting bored and still love it. Cant wait for her next one.
