hd burner
the burner produces excellent quality hd dvd. panasonic have their products sown up. the only decent dvd is produced with their burner and the burner can only be used with a panasonic hd video camera

Perfect burner
This burner from Panasonic is much smaller than a similar one from Canon and is truly portable. It allows you to create standard definition or high definition DVDs from high definition recordings, something that similar burners from Canon and Sony cannot do. I use it to give SD copies to friends and make HD copies for myself. I use it with a TM300 camcorder but it also works with my daughter's SD9Panasonic HDC-TM300 High Definition Flash Memory Camcorder with 32GB Internal Memory & 3MOS Sensor - BlackPanasonic HDC-SD9EB-S HD Camcorder. It is, for me, typical Panasonic--it works beautifully and is well made but not flashy. I would strongly recommend this to anyone with a compatible Panasonic camcorder.

Burning made easy for Panasonic users
This review is written the day after receipt and first trial. The first thing to say is just how small and compact this unit is. It's not much larger than the disk it burns and only about 15mm deep. It is easy to use as the English instructions run to about 5 pages total.I used it to burn a High Def video from a Panasonic HD HDC HS-200 camcorder (directly from the Hard Drive to a DVD-RAM disk. Now, if you read the instructions it's not clear if you can playback a High Def burned disk via a TV without using the camcorder to do the transfer (no problem with standard def, just HD). However to my joy the burned disked played back in full HD on my Panasonic DMP BD60 Blue Ray player. Sorry if this seems like a plug for Panasonic (they can send me a chqeue if they like!!), but all their stuff does at least all work beautifully together without any obvious communication problems.
