katana
i got this game after seeing some videos online for it. the basic gameplay is as an on-rails shooter with some swords and close combat added in. you play a young warrior in different scenarios such as uniting japan under one rule, being a ninja or competing with a rival. as you continue through the game you get different weapons ranging from swords to killer yo-yos. each weapon has it's own way of using it such as stabbing the wiimote towards the screen when using a spear, or flicking your wrist to use the yo-yo. certain ones are easier to use than others but with practice it can be managed. the scenarios themselves are split into small missions about 3-10 minutes long. completing them gives a rank and possibly a powerup to use on other missions.
one of the main points i'd really like to make is this games diversity.
unlike certain on rails games there is a lot of different missions than just "shoot everything" for example there is one mission where you must move around an area trying to find treasure chests before an opponant. in another you must play a sort of memory game. this helps keep the game intresting and fun at all times. as for replay value you can always come back and try to acheive a higher rank in the missions. or simply try to gain more powerups. i would say this game is diffantly a must for any arcade shooter fans, and many wii fans as well
Samurai warriors katana-slash and hack!
Samurai warriors Katana is a humorous yet a fun game to play.
You get to meet most of the samurai warriors cast, apart from the new ones in the samurai warriors XL 2 series...sorry if you were hoping for them! :(
Sadly you don't get to choose you're character and if you are a girl like me you are sometimes referred to as a 'man', 'he' or 'him', but it's still good in terms of hacking and slashing people.
However, another problem is that it's NOT A CO-OP GAME! You can only go against your friend, not do the story with them and this let's the game down a bit, but you can still have some fun with it! (It's not a complete loss!)
Even though there is no co-op game play you can explore different stories, events, weapons and experiences. This game is worth it's price tag! Trust me...it's fun!
