A great camera!
When i opened the box to my "olympus mju 820 midnight black" I thought "Wow!" as it is stunning. I got this for my 16th birthday and it is amazing, and so easy to use it has so many different scenes to offer, you can't go wrong with this camera. I thought the camera would be too technical for me but after two minutes I knew how the camera worked, and how to use its many different features. I took the camera to my party and on a few images some of my friends did have red-eye, but the anti-blur on this camera is fantastic compared to other cameras as it's so quick and has great results. I would recommend this camera to anyone, although it doesn't come with a case. But I can't wait to take the camera everywhere with me as it is weatherproof and it's already given me wonderful results.

Very disappointing
I wanted a new camera as my old one, although fantastic, was only 4MP. As the image quality and colour vibrancy of my old Olympus camera was superb; I decided to stick with the brand and plumped for the Mju 820.

The camera looks very sleek and is extremely easy to use but unfortunately I found these to be the only qualities. After taking over one hundred pictures I noticed on the LCD that there was a lot of noise on all of the pictures but I hoped that when I transferred them onto my computer then the 8MP would really show...I was wrong. The quality of every single image was terrible and these were not low-light/close up shots, these were outdoor in full-light. Most were taken with the pre-programmed 'normal' (point-and-shoot) settings. I even tried altering the ISO and using each of the scenario settings but to no avail.

Another thing that made me dislike the camera was the fact that, although the camera looks stylish, its slim-line edge on one side contrasted with its chunky edge on the other making the camera quite difficult to hold and grip.

All in all, I would recommend extreme caution if you're thinking of buying this camera - its 2 star rating is purely due to its ease of use.

I love this camera.
This is a very good looking robust camera and is extremely compact. It is full of features both the ones you'd expect like landscape, night etc and others that you wouldn't for example candlelight and face recognition. The picture quality is great and at the highest setting the quality of the video is near digital camcorder quality, although it is very memory hungry. The next quality setting down is good enough to use and gives a very reasonable recording capacity. You can't beat it for the price, especially as Olympus is one of the best names in cameras.
